What county will we be in?

Post by phil » Thu Jul 26, 2007 5:07 pm

I can see county maps, and I can see black rock, but I can't tie any of the boundaries in to where on the playa the lines are drawn. Anybody know how to fix the county lines in on Google's maps/sat images?

Pershing County
A plan is what you vary from.

Destiny Lounge 3D will be at Bradbury and 3:15 this year as a part of the 404: Village Not Found group of camps! Come see us!

I think that we're mostly in Pershing, but that part of the city is actually in Washoe. Hence the reason we have sheriffs departments from both counties protecting our fair city.

While I'm not sure, I had understood Pershing has insufficient troops to police the event for a week, hence, BMOrg has to pay Washoe and Humboldt county LEOs to be there, too?

But I'm not clear where the county lines are vis-a-vis Center Camp. Does anybody know? That would clear up my confusion.

Okay, thanks, Bob. If I'm reading that map right, we'll be in the extreme upper right corner of the map.

Are there benefits/disadvantages in being in one or the other?
Irony. You're soaking in it.

Yes, if you are getting married on the playa you want the correct county on the paperwork. Other than that I doubt there is much difference between the two.

Yeah, the exit off 34 used the last two years is about four miles past the county line. We are in just the bottom corner of the big playa.

Also spreading some of the Burner/Burningman money around also keeps burners from being harassed while in other counties. Give a chunk of change out to everyone around and they'll shut up.
