Contact the people at Avalon- http://www.avalonvillage.org

They're probably the largest queer village out there, and might have some ideas. They have a nice collection of smaller camps that might need some extra hands, but you'd have to check with them.

Just remember- the playa is one of the least homophobic places I've ever been (which is like saying fish live in the water). I've heard about some problems every year, but nothing like you would face in your average American city of 40,000. Feel free to be you wherever you are out there.

This year, the North side outer rings are reserved for openly gay men wearing one earring on the left ear. The inner rings are for "in the closet"
gay men who will wear a blue bandana in the left rear pocket and will be open for clandestine meetings w/ other gay men, under the pretense of discussing sports or drinking beer and burping.

Hankies can also be worn around the wrist, around the ankle or leg at the thigh above the knee, to symbolize wrist, ankle, or knee fetish's, or around the neck with the tie going either right or left. Other objects can also be used such as keys and keychains or watch bands to let others know if you are "open" or "on time" and even a set of handcuffs. To let people know if you are 'top' or 'bottom' the tie should point up or down. If worn in the back on the center belt loop, it translates as 'versatile'. If worn on both the front and back belt loop, in pink or red colors it means "hopelessly confused".

The South side outer rings are for gay men who realize it is against the natural order and are hoping to be "reprogrammed"; and center camp is for straight men who are open to fooling around .

I thought is was supposed to be a piece off wool in the pocket while carryin around a bag of peanuts. Orange is ANYTHING ANYTIME! LOL. Eric has been exposed. I'm more of a white with multi color dots worn on the right. Sometimes Lt. Blue or White worn on the right.

Hanky codes.. one of the many great gay contributions to American society.

Too true- I am much more anything anytime. Well, if they're pretty.

If you want to do the sheep, the peanuts are in front pocket; if you want them to do you, the peanuts are in your bum.

can't beat comfort and joy...

Post by alt12 » Sun Aug 05, 2007 9:20 pm

I would check out Comfort and Joy. They are a very friendly gay camp that is pretty tied-in with all the other gay camps. They have this nightly after-party called "After Glow" which has been a legendary place within the gay burner world to meet and hookup after midnight. I always run into people at afterglow (not always people I want to...)...

Libido Lounge and most of it's neighbors in the Redlight District at 9 and Estuary are gay friendly. Libido Lounge IS pansexual.
Read my posts with a grain of salt.
