Newbie in Long Beach
Worked with the Robot Wars and Battlebots shows from 94 through 2003 as the radio frequency coordinator for the control radios and helped manage the pits. Been hearing about BM for ages and thought maybe it's time to put a foot in the water and see if the current sucks me in! Spurred further by some of the people I work event production with that have a site this year and invited me to come along. Might even make it!

Yes, we need more engineering folk. We have tons, but more is always better. We get drowned in partiers by the end of the week. Not that partying is bad, I'd just rather be drowned in robots. We probably met in Long Beach 99'. A friend and I competed the battlebot Executioner. I did a couple after that but I didn't do any of the interacting between officials on those, just design and building.

Dave - love to help - keep me posted. I also just got my hands on a Toro 1200 watt generator in good shape - just need to clean and tune the carburetor. Any need for more power at the site, I'll be gald to add it to the equipment list!

Good news! I'll let you know when buildfest commences! I just bought a pair of Honda EU2000 gennys yesterday. It was almost cheaper to buy two of them than one EU3000... go figure. Now we even have a redundancy plan redundant to the solar power redundancy plan (huh?) If you have room to haul yours out there, it may come in handy. If not, I wouldn't worry! Talk to you soon!!

A plan is what you vary from.
Destiny Lounge 3D will be at Bradbury and 3:15 this year as a part of the 404: Village Not Found group of camps! Come see us!

Dave - And another thing while I am thinking about it........
From my years working at Futaba, I have a collection of hobby remote control radio sets, speed controls and hobby size servos, plus the Team Losi Jr. truck I used one year at the Elton John Oscars viewing party to pull all my satellite cables under the floor of the tent. (I hate crawling under houses too!). If we think of any remote controlled gimmicks we wish to create, either to tie in to existing plans, or add new elements, I offer it all into the mix!
So far yours is the only screen name I have of the group - hit me with any others I should be keeping in touch with please.
