Getting a Bike along Route 447 (e.g., Empire, Gerlach)

I am hoping to amass community knowledge via a quick survey. If you have been driving to BRC in years gone by, please help out.

In years past people have setup stands along route 447 to sell playa bikes (e.g., in Empire and Gerlach). For those of you have been coming for years, what do you think the chance is that bikes will be available on the following days this year?

I would not worry about availability on the side of the road but the condition they are in, namely fughedaboudit.

I really DON'T remember seeing that many bikes...Gotta say YMMV. But the odds on getting an Indian Taco remain TERRIFIC.

For the last several years, I stopped at the dreaded Walmart in Reno and purchased a 21 speed mountain bike for $53. It's not the best quality, but it works great for the week. On the way out of BRC, I have offered the brand new bike to local kids in Gerlach----for freeeee!
Walmart is ready for the influx of burners and there are rows of bikes ready to go out the door.
