Your favorite boozaholic drink recipe
I, like so many, like to bartend at BM. I'm most notorious for pouring pretty goddamm flammable margaritas but enjoy the artistry that goes into a really good bloody mary, etc.
What is your recipe for a great boozaholic drink? I'll start it off with one of my favorites, all credit to my brother JohnB from L.A., the "Johnnie's Cozy":
Glass of apple cider
Shot of Goldschlager (cinnamon schnapps)
Shot of Buttershots (butterscotch schnapps)
heat up in microwave
top with lots of whipped cream and some nutmeg
MMMmmmm.

Take a one-gallon glass ‘sun tea’ jar and pour in 1 liter of Bacardi light rum, 1 liter of Bacardi dark rum and 750 ml of Myer’s rum. Toss in 2/3 of a cone of piloncillo (Mexican brown sugar), 2 vanilla beans split lengthwise, and as much freshly peeled, cored, and quartered pineapple as the jar will allow (usually about one-and-a-half pineapples).
Wait one week.
Then carefully fish out the vanilla beans and holding them over the open sun tea jar, run them through the teeth of a fork allowing the black interior of the vanilla beans to fall back into the mix. Return the bean skins to the mix.
Wait at least one additional week. Spin the glass jar on occasion to mix elements.
When ready to serve, strain the mixture with a cheesecloth or a very fine wire coffee filter to remove all sediment. Serve the clear amber nectar that is the result of this process in small quantities over ice. The infusion of pineapple, Mexican brown sugar, and vanilla mask the fact the your are drinking 100% pure rum.
’04 will be my first burn. I’m planning on gifting samples of this drink out on the playa.

my mom gave me this from the 50's:
- "run-skip-and-go-naked":
mix a tall pink lemonaid concentrate can with 3 cans of equal beer and vodka.
serve in bowl. watch the fun.
-(note: tastes pretty surprising. fizzy. well balanced for white trash).
-- "prairy fire":
1 shot of fav tequilla
few shakes of tobasco.
put in mouth, shake head, swallow.
--can use salt or lime if you like. tobassco works well with tequilla.

Oatnog : It's not just for breakfast anymore.
Pour steel-cut oats into a bottle, up to about an inch;
Fill bottle halfway with your favorite Irish whiskey;
Let stand for at least six hours (longer is better);
Fill up the rest of the bottle with milk;
Add a bit of honey to taste.
Mmmm...
For the holidays, try replacing the milk with eggnog.

Long Winter's Night
I discovered this drink quite accidentally during the 2002 event:
1 part Oregon Chai (regular or Kashmir green tea will do)
1 part Milk
1 and 1/2 shots of Bushmill's Whiskey

Iced Tea Jar rum
One question, while waiting for the above recipie to mix and ferment, do ya refigerate it? Ir is the pinapple supposed to ferment too? Silly question perhaps?
Re: Iced Tea Jar rum
No need to refrigerate it. As you pour rum from the jar, just be sure to remove any pineapple that is left uncovered by liquid.naga brain wrote:One question, while waiting for the above recipie to mix and ferment, do ya refigerate it? I think it is fun that someone thought of the pinapples contribution to alcohol (fermenting) when i was thinking about the alcohols contibution to the fruit. I have never before, to my knowledge cared so much for the fruits' disposition, but have been quite concerned, as it is, about the whereabouts of the pineapple after this tussle with rum.
carry on!

Yeah, alcohol soaked fruit is a good way to go! I guess there really would not be anything to rot though right?

Woo, all deez shinanigans is makin' me thirsty.
A Nutty Irishman, made right (double)
-------------------------------------
16 oz glass fill with ice
2 shots of Irish creme
2 shots of frangelico
2 shots of Jameson Irish whiskey
Fill glass with creme, not milk, milk will make it taste odd.
Although it is obviously an expensive recipe, it is one of the best tasting drinks I have ever had that will get you drunk as shit. Ordering this drink at a bar made correctly, mind you I live in Colorado, has never cost me less than 15 bucks

The Irish Carbomb
A friend of mine introduced me to this skull-crushing mixture...
Irish Carbomb:
Pour a good, high potency stout into a glass (we used Rasputin Stout at 8.9%)
drink a bit of it down to make room for....
a shot of Jameson whiskey.
pour the shot into the stout and slam it.
hold onto something for balance...
repeat

I must add the worst drink I have ever encountered.
While under the influence of a bit of confetti
a friend made a drink and asked me to sample it. It was the foulest tasting thing I'd ever known...I almost induced vomiting just to get it all out...
He gleefully explained that it was his new concoction called "Goatshit" and revealed his recipe of Kahlua mixed with grapefruit juice.
He kept drinking it while I went elsewhere to hork.
Never, EVER try that one at home, kids!

Lately I've been adding a banana and 2 peeled peaches to a blender full of strawberry margarita mix (and of course generous amounts of tequila and sometimes rum) and it's REALLY GOOD! I call it a fruit boozie. I'll be makin' em on the Playa Cruizer artboat.
