I from the North - He from the East- where to meet?

Post by Fade_on » Mon Aug 13, 2007 11:14 pm

I'm a first timer - and I'm trying to find an exact location to meet a friend so we can head in the BM together. He suggested the Out of Town Park in Fernley - but that adds two hours to my trip from the north. Is there another place where one could identify an exact location where one could hang out for around 3 hours (without dying from heat)? I imagine Gerlach is just insanity and it might be difficult finding someone there. Thanks!

You will find Gerlach to be not that bad, Burners either bypass or stop for just a few minutes. Hang at the outskirts where there are always people making a last stop, chatting, buying and selling "no show" tickets, going to the store etc. If you tell him to meet you at the gas station pumps ( there is just one pump island as I recall) and just check on the half hour you should find him no problem. I would recommend the General Store in Empire. Just south of Gerlach. There isn't anything else there, so it should be easy to find each other.

Whoever gets there first can have a nice ice cream and relax.

Note: Bruno's may now be a Shell station. In any case it's the only gas in Gerlach.

I was in the area this winter and wrote this in Feb 07:

" Bruno's gas is now a Shell but their Playafied tow truck inside had Bruno's Texaco on the side. "
