Hey Beautiful BRC Citizens,

If there is anyone who has information about any ritual, performance or art dedicated to the lunar eclipse, please let me know. I would prefer not to work solo on this. I am simply formulating intentions and doing research on the astrological aspects of this eclipse, influences, etc. This being a "fire year" in Dagara cosmology, completion is in the air. And with the Temple of Forgiveness, I would like to incorporate some healing work around all the fear, misguidedness and misinformation about gays and lesbians in our history and culture. We must pave the way for our future healers and shamans and find our place at the table of global intentional community.

On that night, starting at 8pm until 10, we'll be giving a Crystal Singing Bowl Concert with composed pieces of Tones at our camp, MoonBow Camp. 12 to 14 small and large crystal singing bowls will be there to start the evening of the Lunar Eclipse. A great way to heal and meditate for the evening. See you!

Just want folks to know that it happens on Tuesday morning, or what most of think of as Monday night.

It is a really long eclipse. It is like one you see as a child, and think it lasted for days. Well, so much for my childhood...lot's of geeky older brothers.

The Ambivalent Grove, part of Camp-I-Am, are hosting the Ride of the Wild Hunt, get your glow on and join the spectacle! Basically a gathering en masse of lighted cycles, peoples, and any smallish art cars who are interested, riding out in parade toward the Man a few hundred yards and then streaming off into the night. A nice little public spectacle during the Early Burn Phase, for joyous light before lunar delight.

The Ambivalent Grove will feature the beautiful and terrible aspects of the personification of Nature. Giant spirit-masks will adorn the outside of the Grove, personifying not only the Green Man, but the Huntresses of Diana, Fierce Maenads, Duppy Jonah (the Green Man of the ocean deeps), and other nature spirits who make their home in the shaded clearings, kelp stands, grassy knolls, and mysterious caverns of the Ambivalent Grove. Smaller versions of the masks will festoon the Grove, and pegs with labels will be available for visitors to add to the mask collection.

On the evening of the Lunar Eclipse, revelers will gather at dusk, and at full dark the luminescent Wild Hunt will ride forth in celebration, streaming out over the Esplanade towards the Man before scattering like sparks, each to their own evening's festivities.

I'm working on an event called Blackout. I haven't made any public announcements as of yet, but it will take place at 12 o'clock and trash fence, and start at around midnight on Monday. I am lining up 3-4 musical artists whose body of work conveys a deeper meaning, to nature as a whole and the playa in particular. I envision the music to be uptempo to start, and slowing down as the moon slips into shadow, eventually reaching totality at around 2:35am (early Tuesday morning).

Nothing-to-Prove is a little big to ride a bicycle, but her Shadow might pull a chariot for her. We will go wherever the Spirit moves, but the plan is to go visit the Man, swing by the Temple and eventually make it out to the eclipse viewing party at the trash fence.

Other lupine types are invited to convene at Safer Sex Camp around 10PM as the moon rises and lend their voices to Nothing-to-Prove's Greet The Moon ceremony!

Hahaha...

Hard to say. The artists/performers lined up are folks whom I've found to have a pretty deep connection to the playa in both their original works and the songs they play from other artists.

It's not painful at all, I just got a black spot in my vision that didn't move one day. And since the structural integrity of my eye was compromised by the surgery, I can't risk dust and high elevations. We go over a couple heavy-duty passes to get there from here.

do not bend over and lift any thing like I did.. they had to laser a dam in the eye.. not good.. the other eye is a birth defect and worthless..

It's mostly healed now, but I've already e-mailed the scholarship folks and told them to give my ticket to someone else, and I've lost a whole month of preparations. And I still can't go over the Willamette and Cedarville Passes...

I was kind of thinking the same thing too... but I've been noticing a lot of ancient symbols and design references lately. My head's been in ancient Sumer, though, so I just chalked it up to all that being on my mind lately.

Actually "Ra-Horakhty" was an attempted blending of the stories of Ra and Horus due them both being associated with the sun.

Ra-Heru-Khuit appears to be a alt spelling of "Ra-Hoor-Khuit" from Alister Crowley's book The Book of the Law, and again is actually the young Ra after birth, not the elder Horus.

The story of how Horus beat Set BTW is freakin' funny shit...

Hey everyone;

Silicon Village is going to be doing a lunar eclipse dreamtime ritual to really get into the space of the eclipse. We are looking for a few intentional/spiritually minded performers that would like to help us create a dreamtime environment through flaggings, flow toys, and any other aethyrial and dreamy type of performance.

The ritual will start around 2:15 and creating sacred space, beat poetry to invoke the dreamtime, a guided meditation to let go all of the craziness in getting to the playa and step into the dreamtime...following with dreamy performances by hopefully YOU! :)

Perhaps break away from the big party at 12 and the trash fence and come to the art car gathering next door at the trash fence (hard to miss) for some intentional performance to start off your week! :)
