ROFL is an online term meaning "Rolling On the Floor Laughing", like writing "Haha", except funnier.what is ROFL and Astroglide?
Astroglide is lubricant for sexual activities. I think it was a joke referring to other holes as the dry "socket".
Around here, we think we're funnier than we are.
Don't take things personally, if you really think you need a check-up out there you might find one, but it's not likely. What did your dentist recommend? Is there some treatment you need someone to do out there? Just do what your dentist recommends and hopefully most of the pain will have subsided by the time you're out there.
My camp is full of health care workers, MD's, RN's, and all manner of others who work on/for people the rest of the year. We, however, do NOT work on/for people during the burn, as this is our vacation.
We are camp: No Compassion
The other 51 weeks, we are caring, compassionate, healthcare professionals. But if you need help this week, you better look someplace else, the medic tent I would suggest. Thanks to those fine people, I don't have to work on my vacation!

Oh, the dreary fish will inject sensible realism into this silly thread.
There is a dentist that used to work with the Rangers Medical branch, back before ESD was born and it was decided that they wouldn't let him contribute that way any more because of liability issues. I understand that he still attends at least 3 or so years ago. If you walk around and ask at camps and follow leads you may find one. Dentistry is a nice middle class profession where you can be your own boss and take your vacation when you want; so I assume they are represented in a population of ~40,000. It's your job to find one.
Do what your doctor says and hydrate. Idon't know if hydration will help with dry socket, but going to Reno to hydrate cause you didn't take care of yourself, is a bitch.

Unless you have some mutated abnormal case of dry socket, it should be over and done with in about 5 or 6 days.
Since you are posting here, it means you have access to the Interwebz. A much more informative visit for solutions to your condition would be www.google.com and enter "dry socket care" or "dry socket help" or "ZOMIGAWDS! I HAS ZE DRYSOCKET SUXORS!" or something similar in the search window.
And lastly, why are you not talking to the dentists that pulled your tooth/teeth a few days ago and why did you not follow your after care instructions?

well... didn't expect so many replies.. thank you to those who actually recommended stuff.. I don't smoke, and i did follow the instruction, and i continue to follow the instructions of my dentists. who placed a cotton ball or smth along those lines with solution on my tooth, he said a dentist needs to change this solution every two days untill the wound heals.. my biggest concern is that the wound won't heel in a week, and i will have to visit a dentist in reno every two days while i am at Burning Man.
that is all... sorry if smth i said was out of place.. i thought this was a "help" forum..

Nope. Like I said, we think we're funny, but we aren't. If you stick around you'll get used to it. When we make snide remarks it probably means we don't have anything constructive to say, but we're bored enough to type something out anyway.sorry if smth i said was out of place

Do it yourself ...
I would ask your dentist all the particulars about changing the dressing , see if it requires any special skills that take a long time to master or is it something you can manage yourself. It does not sound like brain surgery, and given the alternatives of leaving the event or forgoing it, seems like a reasonable solution. Medical and non medical personnel have preformed life saving procedures under all kinds of conditions.

It is. Sometimes the best help that can be given is a shove in the right direction.galchonok wrote: i thought this was a "help" forum..

It's going to be alright.
