DJ line-ups and schedules...anyone?

Post by alt12 » Sun Aug 19, 2007 9:16 pm

So thanks for posting the Opulent Temple line-up. Anyone else know of the line-ups this year for the big sound camps? Who is going to be at 2:00 and 10:00 this year? Any other cool DJs that you know are going to be making the rounds? Would love to hear about schedules ahead of time. I hate finding out after the fact.... thx

While some events (like the Temple Of Breaks) don't post their lineup in advance, many camps and artists/performers post their schedules. Check their web sites and spaces on tribe, they'll likely get posted in the course of the next seven days.

In years past I've usually compiled the information on a spreadsheet and then printed it out before I left for the desert, but this year I'm taking a break from that task. Combination of wanting to go a different route for myself (and campmates) and I'll be leaving for the playa before half the info gets posted.

I will throw out this bit of advice, though. Don't just surf the superstar DJ's. Yeah, they play great sets out in the desert (everyone does). Yeah, you get to see them for free (just like everyone else). But there's some incredible talent out there that you've never heard of. If you don't explore camps and events musically speaking, you'll never hear them.'

Even when I had my 'master list' of what's going on when at the big sound camps, I did my best to follow the vibe/atmosphere rather than the setlist.

well this is the first year that I'm actually planning ahead in terms of music I want to hear. Tired of hearing after-the-fact that so-and-so played already. Totally agree with you about the cool stuff you just run into. I've heard some great bands and DJs at bm that I'd never heard of and just ran into and they were just mind-blowing....

That being said, I made my own little spreadsheet this year :) so I might as well answer my own question here:
