Yet another (forward of a forward of a forward of a) report from the
playa on outlandish conditions.

Weather Forecast for Gerlach

Post by Etrit » Tue Aug 21, 2007 10:55 pm

This is interesting, I've looked up the forecast on a few websites and get different forecasts:

Google- Highs: 80ish, Lows 58ish

Wunderground - Highs 80ish, Lows 28-30ish (This is observed at Lovelock NV, which is only 40miles SE from Gerlach

Weather.com, Intellicast, AND National Weather Service - Highs 95ish, Lows, 60's

Lets hope Google is right! Or even Weather.com, Intellicast and NWS ...

Highs in the 80's and lows in the upper 50's would rock!

There is a really nifty Davis Instruments weather station sitting in Gerlach ...

or 8 day history:

Looks like it was 93 - 94 in Gerlach.

...and the 2 overnight lows covered in that data set are just a hair below 60. I think I get where these forecasts are coming from.
It's hard to have a normal conversation with someone with 6' acrylic rods strapped to your back.

Remember that 60 on the playa with low humidity is mighty fucking cold.

Go to the car-beque in Gigsville for an after hours warm up at the big ass camp fire. :)
