There's an idea about those circumstances when you don't seem to have as many options - maybe a choice between something that kinda sucks and one that totally sucks. Do what you're doing - brainstorm, tear it up. Open up every crazy possibility you can think of. The idea is that it opens up the power of the possible - more options, more choices, less fear and pessimism. It seems to work.
I favor the idea of just "putting the question out there" and then sort of chasing after the question, and see what comes up. It seems to work.
As far as work, green jobs are still too few - maybe some other option that would satisfy? Cool people? Great product? Challenge? ???
I think I fell into my work almost by imagination seemingly. Loads of time off, usually decent pay. (occaisionally work with total assholes on the downside. But the new business fell into place "out of the blue". Took a while....)
