Paintball or Airsoft?

Post by snackdad » Wed Aug 22, 2007 7:26 pm

Me and my camp friends are driving up from Mill Valley for our first BM adventure....weeeee. Is it better to use Airsoft or Paintball for our Playa games. I don't want to make want to make a big mess. Thanks I can't wait to meet you all. Is there still a drive by shooting range? I saw it on MTV and it was sweet. Thanks Elloit

The drive by shooting range is a thing of the past. Long gone before I began attending, and that was seven years ago.

No driving anyway, and bike by shootings, well, that's just too weird.

Read the frakkin' survival guide!

Participant responsibilities:

# 10 FIREARMS: The possession of firearms including BB guns, air rifles, or paint ball guns, within Black Rock City is prohibited. Neither our event nor the greater playa is suitable for recreational shooting.

Paint ball someone who does want to be and you may find yourself in the medical tent too.

Please take the time to read it. I promise you will come better prepared, have more fun, and have fewer items confiscated at the gate.

Oopsie..looks like I had some bad ideas. Thanks for your help. I am still bringing the old favorite Potato Cannon! At least thats not a firearm. Some times I jam a glow stick in the potato and let her rip at night. It goes so far I only find the silly potato half the time! Maybe I will soak the potato in glow stick fluid this time so I wont litter the playa with plastic. Thanks everyone!!!!!

Careful with that thing, you could kill someone with those. Also you shouldn't operate it unless you know you can completely de-moop after. Potatoes are probably grosser moop for us to clean up than plastic. We can't just leave them.

Haha. It seriously might be someone trolling for attention, but it's hard to tell. All fun ideas that unfortunately just don't fit in with todays Black Rock City. A potatoe cannon shot from deep playa out into the open playa, using dry ice balls covered with glow stick goop might be fun. There are relatively moopless safe ways of doing fun things.
