OUCH!!

Can you please wait a minute, that water is hot.

Now let me see, the last thing I remember was wandering in and sitting in the corner enjoying a nice cold one. The next thing I know I am getting soaked by these steam cannons! A little notice would be nice. Oh well, I guess I do smell better now. A little Crown Royal aftershave and I will really be in ship shape.

I guess I will just have my drinks out here on the deck until the bar is safe again. Once it is all cleaned up, I will make sure it is fully restocked, and I will make the personal sacrifice of sampling each bottle on the way in just to make sure we get nothing but the good stuff.

Is there any chance the few remaining patrons can hit the 2500 mark by the time the man burns? I will need a lot of help, with all the sampling, I will probably pass out pretty regularly.

Oh boy, that dust storm was really bad tonight!

Oh what do you mean, Oh yeah I forgot about the entrance road and all those car and trucks kick'n up that dust.

Good thing it should, die down about a week and a day from now!

Sure could use a cold beer, to wet my throat B'tender!

Post by Oldguy » Sun Aug 26, 2007 9:55 pm

I only got 40 miles from home when I got a blowout tire on the interstate. Then I found out 3 national tire chains were closed on Sunday. Did I meantion I had to completly unload my Geo to get to the balloon sparetire? Anyway, I'm sitting here now : crying in my beer...

Sorry to hear of your troubles Oldguy!
The only place I've found that does tires and repairs on sundays is Sears. Found this out driving my car back to mn from california one summer.

I hope you make it out there safely!
I'll be home watching the cars go by the webcam in gerlach wishing I was out there with you!

Sorry about the scalding, Stargeezer. I can't see too well in this dim light. I should have called out a warning. Hope you're back on the road, OldGuy.
Cold beer for A-2-Z, coming up!
Plops on couch next to MartianSky. Stares at the webcam. Didn't realize there were so many VW Microbus hippievans still on the road.

That is OK Bin, I am often back in the dark corner where nobody can see me anyway. I guess I had one too many and decided to catch some z's. Once I am in that condition, water is about the only thing that will wake me up, I am just used to it being ice water!

Watching the webcam, I just caught what looked to be a Schwanns truck going by. If he has a full load of ice cream I bet he will make a lot of friends in a hurry. It looks like there is a pretty continous flow heading to BRC. I hope the weather on the playa is as nice as it shows in Gerlach.

So we are the playing mice while the cats are at the playa.

So the question of the day is:

If the mice are in the bar,

and the cats ore on the playa,

where are all the dogs?? :)

Of all the four legged critters I have been compared with,
I think this is the first time I have been a mouse.

We are on the downhill side of this page,

then one more complete one,

then number 2500.

With most of a week, can we get it done?

We could rip this place to shreds, burn the splinters and rebuild it six or seven times. Hmmm umm hmm, yes we could.

But if we were to rip it to shreds, we would have a lot of upset patrons when they get back. Why don't we do something simple like mirror image it. It might be fun to watch them come back in and see everything almost exactly as it was and wonder just what is different!!

Yes, but we only need one on page 2500 so that subtracts the other 29 so we only have 37 posts, more or less as I am not sure what the current number is, to hit page 2500.

Lets go one at a time, if we get 2500 before the burn, then we can go for 75000!!!

Mirror the bar, trip the page counter, and trip the post counter. It looks like we have our work cut out!

I am just recovering from spending the entire night watching the lunar eclipse. The view we had here in the mountains was absolutely fantastic. It should have been great out on the Playa also. It sure would have made for a lively party. I took some pictures, but as it darkened, it really messed up the auto features in the camera. Someday I need to break down and get a camera that is made for astrophotography.

I think I will have a cold one, and then take a nap. I just don't deal with an all nighter as well as I used to.

I don't even try.

I don't know if I'm sleeping too much or if it's all good for gaining strength and healing. I'm sick of the pins and needles in my ankle, that's what I know for sure.

Hmmmm
I stay up, but I shouldn't. Too cloudy here to catch the eclipse this morning. Radio says there's another one coming next February.
