Haaa, just finished putting up the shade structure, the sun is starting to cool off a bit. Haven't had any dust flying in the camp.
Time for a beer and I'm going to put up the wind sock poles and socks. Then I'll start to make some Red Curry and chicken thighs with rice!
Give me a beer, Bar MaN!

It is amazing what the mind does. My uncle had a similar pain problem and knew it was the mind just learning to cope. Eventually, one day you will simply quit noticing the sensation. I hope that day comes for you soon. There are a lot of people that you have never met pulling for you. Keep positive thoughts, time will do the rest.theCryptofishist wrote:I don't even try.
I don't know if I'm sleeping too much or if it's all good for gaining strength and healing. I'm sick of the pins and needles in my ankle, that's what I know for sure.

Is there any chance I can convince you that I am red-handed because I lost my balance and spilled my Bloody Mary?
Maybe we can take a different approach, we were just trying to surprise the patrons when they return from the playa. Tisha2, if you were to direct what remodels you would approve, we still have enough time to pull this off.
Have a cold one while you think about it.

Has another bloody mary, for the vitamins.

Oh my GODS!!!
After i had that beer (and thank you martiansky!)
I drove my bike down to the man and shared a little puff with some playans underneath the Man. Well when we got done, I kind thought the ashes were all spent! So I just knock them out of the Jiggerkabooger and saw a little flicker of a spark go into a crack. I thought none too much about it. But, as I got to the Esplanade some people were kind of gauking, pointing to the man and yelling he's on fire! I looked around and it was burning. yeah, it was on fire prematurely going off!
Holy fuken schit!
Hey, I really could use a couple of beer right now and some of those shots!
Yeah, just another day on the playa I guess?

I've lost count. Is Tisha still at home?
Every burn is "one for the books" in its own way, I suppose. I'm waiting to see how last night's premature combustion brings people together. I hope the rebuilding of the man is opened to the widest burner participation possible. I see many wooden men and women encircling the big man, all going up in flames together.

((((((((bin)))))))))
Glad to see your optimism.
Me. I'm all cynic. that's one expensive vacation for mr. Addis,I have to say. $200 to enter the event, I suppose that's nothing compared to 25,000 for bail (okay 2,500) but still, that's another much nicer trip he could have had.
Thank god I'm gruntled.

Alert!!! Alert!!!
Hi everyone! You know that I don't often make requests on Eplaya, but as mayor of BRC. We want to find out who was involved in the Premature Buirning of the Man!
We have rumor and some leads as who might have done it and we are asking for your help!
A person known on the playa that goes by the name of Fat Man and a group of radical christians protesting exchange of dogma underneath the the temple of the man in the Green Pavilon may have started the fire. We have leads and secret messages posted on eplaya about their plans.
If you come forward with information leading to their arrest, we will award you with free ice all week!
Please come down to the Black Rock Municipal Court house and speak to our Attorney General, Albeit GoneToLunch, and he will take your statements!
thank you all for helping BRC and Burning Man LLC.
Have A Happy Burn (tm)!
The Mayor!

I'm sure it causes the lawyers to shudder in their sleep...stargeezer wrote:Having volunteers doing the construction during the event sounds like a great idea to me.

OK, I have not been flamed in a while, and this is burn week so .....tisha2 wrote:do you know the org lawyers playa-names?? Thunder and Lightning. I love that. My understanding (I have no been yet) is that people go to Burningman to escape their default world for whatever reason. I have noticed that when a significant change is discussed for the event, that it is most often set aside due to what the lawyers might think, which allows the "default world" to win again. I find it very sad that lawyers have such a hold on our society that even the "escapes" are under their control.
Now where did I leave that flame retardent suit. I probably should have thought about that before I made this post. I guess I better call my lawyer and pay his ransom for a few days of extra protection!!

Wellllll - Bin Noddin, esquire at your service. Actually, I agree with you and not just about the event, but so many other aspects of life. I review contracts and leases all day (yeah, I know, yaaaawwwwnnn) and its all about the "what ifs". Ultimately, though it is about being honest and doing your best. The guy who taught me this business had a hundred and one creative weasel clauses he could stick in a lease, but he always said that in actuality you should forget all about that because the only really important part of the deal was the other party's phone number - when an issue comes up, talk about it and work it out like gentlemen, regardless of what the fine print in the agreement says. Too bad more people don't act that way in business.stargeezer wrote:OK, I have not been flamed in a while, and this is burn week so .....tisha2 wrote:do you know the org lawyers playa-names?? On the other hand, if you want fire and flame, you've come to the right place.
