My goal was not to get flamed, I have just learned that when I speak my opinion, flaming is a common result. I might suggest that you be careful when you agree with me, I would hate for you to get caught in the crossfire. :)

With a little luck, that 75000 mark will happen before you get back!

I have run in for a quick beer, and maybe some reasonable air. We have so many forest fires in the area that it is almost impossible to breath when outside. It might actually be one of those years where the playa dust storms would be better on my lungs than all this smoke. Somehow I think I would be laughed at if I suggested a playa run for fresh clean air!!

Don't worry, you aren't as hot as Larry Craig is right now- sweating bullets!

But have a beer anyway!

Here ya go!

Yes, Larry is in a bit of trouble right now. He is just one of many elected officials in this state that have been disappointing. It seems like we always have the choice of voting for the lesser of evils rather than voting for somebody we really want.

Now that you mention it, one of the closest fires was man caused, and spent shell casings were found. I wonder where he has been hiding!!

I guess I will have another beer and then call it a night. Is anybody else drinking or should I take this one to-go?

It is getting pretty quiet in here and it does not look like we can hit post 75000 before the burn. I think I will restock the bar and then go back to my corner booth and just watch as the patrons wander back in. I wonder how may of them will notice that this place is a mirror image of it's old self, or just write off the confusion to decompression. Much has happened in the past week, and I suspect most patrons will not care what the bar looks like, they will just want a drink. I hope the small amount of negative energy that was obviously present on the playa this year had a minimal impact on those present at the event, and I hope all return safely.

How much rain can the playa take before it becomes a mucky mess that eliminates vehicle traffic? Unfortunately, this could make for a real ugly Sunday.

Gerlach looked like it stayed dry while a large cloud was raining on just part of the playa. Maybe it missed BRC. Just lasted an hour or so. Drink!

>>>> CLICK HERE <<<<<

what's everyone who is not on the playa up to today? As for me well....let's see.... it's a burning man kinda day so I'll start with a water run up in Randsburg, change out propane tanks and refill empties, and tonight a trash reduction burn as my temple burn. Thats just the chores, I have three websites that need work asap (tentative release dates pending). All this and still I didn't get to go to the man this year grrrrr... oh well that leaves plenty of time to plan for next year.

Jack and Coffee that's the Ticket. Anybody drinking?

Weird to be able to watch it from here.
12:05 a.m. man raises his arms
1:05 a.m. fireworks begin, man catches fire
1:34 a.m. man collapses into fire.
Bleary-eyed bin checking out.
Cheers!

Just Got Back

Post by Oldguy » Mon Sep 03, 2007 12:24 am

double burn this year, more for us! whiteout thurs and friday afternoons. my tent got rained on, enough for a nice puddle all around, friday saw a brief shower/sprinkle between big blows. I hunkered down both days in center camp. Brave musicmakers contined, drum circle got more primal than usual. Saturday, I baked in my tent before the man burned. Soooo,an icewater please. The sturdier folk should be along shortly.
