Why is this the first site that pops up when I search "Christian Advice" This seems strange? Does money put you at the top of the search list? If so my question is still the same. Is it just the ads that make them at the top of the list?

The answer should be obvious. It's not the $ BTW.

It's solely because Ms. Betty Bowers provides the very best in Christian(TM) advice to the lost souls who seek both salvation and fabulousness.

Same goes for when you do a Google search for 'Baptist.' First hit takes you to the Landover Baptist Church site. All otheres are pretenders to the throne. Landover provides you with your One Stop Christian Needs.

I understand whats going on here. People are taking the most common 'search strings' and trademarking them? This is fascinating! I wonder if someone could buy the 'master list' of the most commonly searched words and trademark them? This is a good scam! I hope all good christains get there advice here! LOL

while not trademarked, I know of one shopping portal that became massively profitable after they figured out how to do massive google tweaking. They are rather protective about the info.

as far as the positioning of landoever and betty bowers, it is because the folks at google have a left leaning sense of humor. They are known for their easter eggs.

I have been told by someone who knows alot about computers and the internet that When doing search strings there are many hidden ways to be able to get your website up first, one of the most common methods used, which is used to attach a single word to something, for example many porn sites will some how attach something in their strings which would lead their websites to pop up for children who may be searching for say something on Disney World.. this may be the same case scenerio. I don't know though, is that possible?

First of all, Disney is actually porn for children. Second, yeah, that search thing is also used to get you to porn sites if you type in things like "Burning Man AND videos," that all started with the Voyeur Video scandal thingie.
