Featureless back streets

Post by Hamandegger » Thu Sep 06, 2007 5:53 am

This year was the first I had to read the street signs to find my camp after the third day. The back streets, which used to proliferate with small bars and interesting instillations were as featureless as the "flat blocks" of a socialist state. There were few landmarks, just an unending wall of rented camper vehicles. If you asked someone where they were camped it was "C and 6:30" or "F and 3:30", which seemed fitting for the uniformity of the scene. God Bless Spikes, loving acceptance for all, exempting drunken assholes.

I can't speak for others, but I didn't do a theme camp this year and just parked way out back because it seemed the best place if you were gonna just roll the RV to a stop and call it good.

I used to have a big esplanade theme camp, and next year I'll probably become part of a smaller theme camp, but since I was taking a year off and just camped, no theme, I figured it was proper to put myself way out back.
