Trying to get all the tiny bits out of the little sand dunes was a nighmare. I don't know how the DPW does it. Is there an address where we can send care packages to those fuckers?
I don't know if this was the worst year for MOOP or not, but DPW sure has a LOT of work ahead of them.
I know, they should be given medals. And all the PBR they can quaff!!!

That wig hair - Jeezus. THAT crap was horrible. EVERY time I turned around I found more of that stringy shit. I'd almost rather deal with boas. No shit. I'd moop an area tight, and turn around to find wig strand. UCK with a capitol F!!!

That sloppy wet puddle - I *still* have to clean the rest of the muddy playa crap off of my good renfair boots from that fiasco, Sunk to the ankles walking into that slimepit. People who do that oughta be cremated, castrated, and Crispy-fried. What makes me ill is the crap I couldn't get to... it was flat GROSS.

Yeah, it's not gonna be pretty. Not the year to be on DPW or EG's.

Now I'm confused as to what DPW and anybody else working cleanup have to do with the issues under discussion. Spec?

BTW, *you* mentioned Addis in your first post. Thought you were making some kind of comparison.

Can't you two just kiss and make up. Agree to disagree and be done with it. This shit is like a badly written soap opera at times.

actually bob's not real, its a poor implementation of alicebot running on a cheap linux beigebox cluster. you should love him toolmaker because it means he's inanimate and has one of your souls.

Tool -- I'm just curious why people care, or not, and what they consider is at stake for them or others, wrt to practical matters at Burning Man.

So in general, what's to be learned from whatever happened with Crude Awakening, and why should anybody reading this thread care?

I confess I haven't learn anything new about the artist's behavior. At least three times after he's gotten sizable art grants he's left organic crap on the playa for others to clean up.

Sounds like the art department & Gate did their respective jobs to the best of their ability, but one might wonder whether major funded artists get a special redacted version of the Survival Guide that consists of blacked-out pages stamped ALL ACCESS -- EVERYTHING APPROVED. I'm quite sure they get same version everybody else does who gets comp tickets, but one might wonder.

Does it make a difference the tree was a "live" redwood, ie being from a nursery w/ the root ball intact? You don't have to go the playa to see redwood trees suffering in lousy environments, just tour any office park in Silicon Valley or bayside flatlands where redwoods are choked by the salt, wind & dryness.
