Building a bike
Building a bike
I've been thinking of building an Art/get around the playa bike, I'm considering a recumbent trike. Frankly my recent experience with bicycles is very limited, part of why I want to build one is to lure myself back into riding. I can tig, mig , braze, but haven't worked with bicycle tubing before. so I'm looking for information ,tips and tricks on what's a good idea, what's a really bad idea, materials, what's a good bike to cannibalize and what's good to stay away from. Just about any thing anyone has to offer. Keep in mind I don't have a lot of money to put towards this project and I'm a 220 pound out of shape man so this sucker has to be sturdy and not to heavy.

Anyone in the Seattle area who wants a great recumbent trike project, I've got one in need of some major TLC that I'm giving away in hopes of saving it from a dumpster death.
About 5 feet long, 2 wheels in the rear and one long chopper front end, it needs work, works which I cannot give to it. I rescued it from a trip to the dump only to realize I have no current skills with restoring bicycles of any kind.
I'll send some pictures if ya like. Lemme know!

I was wondering if anyone could help me, I'm looking for plans on how to build a three-wheeled trike, with 2 wheels up front, something similar to this:

for my mobile chai cart next year. Thanks!

Chai: I found a site of some guy who builds bikes from parts, and he has built a few with the 2 front wheels.. no carts, but you could probably adjust to your tastes... he sells a book he wrote with plans to build every bike on his site(hes made LOTS of them) check it out..
