My camp mates still laugh at me when I crack open the soup cans and eat it straight, but man it tastes good! 90-100 degrees is the perfect temperature for many things. Straight out of the cooler is the perfect temperature for many other things. Why bring all that cooking gear and clean up all that mess?

I did bring a hot box, but forgot the double glass top..

the box was simple: just a cardboard box lined was windsheld reflector material.. then an old double pane window about 12X12 inch

They work great during the day, but at night coming back to camp they take forever to warm up anything.

Aww, nobody heats food on the engine block anymore? Get that can deep in there and set it on the exaust manifold. Works better if you just drove somewhere, but idle will still heat food fairly quickly. Different engine displacements and running conditions will heat up differently though, so check your temps and remove the label first. (It's flammable!) Car-b-que!
*poke* is it flammable?

Car-b-que my ass.

The trick is keeping things cool efficiently -- eg PowerBars, Snickers & Labatt Blue in the water Igloo.
