BodMod Camp?

Post by Xine » Tue Jan 06, 2004 8:35 am

I have this mad desire to be part of a camp that is bodmod friendly, and that my husband and I are not the only day to day freaks there. Anybody else know of a camp like this, or is interested in starting one?

Includes any sort of body modification (including tongue splitting, subincision etc).
I am far more interesting in real life, drop by my work. I am there all the time, and love to visit. Catch me at Attitude Tattoo (www.attitudetattoo.net for directions)

Sounds like a cool idea but isn't it a bad idea to do something like that on the Playa where it's so dusty and stuff ?? It would seem like a chance of infection could increase more so than doing it off of the Playa.

That sounds cool, I'm a bod mod person myself...bringing alot of pre packages/sterile play piercing needles and the the appropriate supplies for safety/cleanliness)...I am going to do different sessions/ritual piercings each day....I want to build a little room/area that is laid back and comfoy & shaded to do do some temporary piercing for people who are interested...but the logistics and the cost to set this up is too much for me to attempt alone. But I was thinking it would be a interesting "gift" for some folkes...lol

What is temporary piercing?

I love the sentiment of wanting to share your body modification skills on the playa...but folks really can't wash as thoroughly or frequently out there. And keeping some of your body parts out of the sun can be difficult, too.

Perhaps you could do something to showcase bodymods instead?

-throw a body mod fashion show, complete with catwalk & judges & prizes...

- improv body mod puppet theatre, where folks can use their work like puppets in a play...

-..?

temporary piercings are typically done with a small guage (27-18)...typical piercing is done at a 14 guage. They are needles attatched to a hub, (like the ones used when you get a shot or Iv (although IV's are different types of needles)...

These piercings are done mainly for the experience, & are less invasive then a normal piercing. They only stay in for a few minutes and heal very easy, require no aftercare & have very little chance of getting infected (provided that the piercer uses sterile supplies and techniques). You do not place jewelery in. Also, they don't leave scars.

Here is an example ....these were piercings I did on myself. they came out minutes after being done, and they healed up fine. there was mild bruising for a few days....and the area was a little sore to the touch, but hardly noticeable...
