I posted a couple of days ago and got some tips but I have not found a complete answer to my question , so I will post here. I probably posted in the wrong area...before
I want to make medallion or Pendants for next year. i have a rough design that I will refine to scale. But I need to figure out how to get it made since i dont own a machine shop. i met a person in 2005 that was named "Watercutter", he said he used high pressure water to cut the steel for the pedant, and he gave me one.
I am looking for someone that has this equipment or something else that would make the pendant. I am willing to fairly compensate someone who can cut the steel with my design. So far my searches on the forum have left me empty handed but I am not giving up that easy.
Take care and thanks to those who have given me tips and thanks in advance to those who will give me some addtional pointers.

I would much rather receive a gift of ugly, sloppy, scratch n dent play-doh pendant that has a drop of your sweat on it from when you burned your hand taking it out of the oven... vs. the laser etched, hydro jet cut, mill polished perfect pendant you paid someone else to make for you.
But that is just me and I have been told I was weird... sometimes...

Hi SandMan!!
Like Token, I also like hand made items, but since I worked With CNC equipment for a long time, I have to admit to being fond of those precisely made pieces as well.
Check in your local yellow pages under something like these headings:
Machine Shops
Tool & Die Shops
CNC Machining
Abrasive Waterjet
Wire EDM
Laser Cutting
Plasma Cutting
Plasma will be the messiest but probably the cheapest for larger pieces. Wire EDM is very, VERY precise, but very expensive. Waterjet or laser is probably the best way to go for what you’re doing. Having your own geometry drawn out in a readable CAD file will go a long way to getting it done (PM me and I can help you out or at least give you some pointers on drawing geometry for a CNC machine). Try and strike a trade with the guy or gal running the machine and keep money out of the picture if you can do it. Some small shops will let their employees do side jobs sometimes if the machines are ever idle.
