Looking for Burner who makes Engagement Worthy Jewelry

Hey y'all,

I am faced with asking the woman I am madly in love with to marry me. Being long time burners, it seems so incongruous to me to go to a mainstream jeweler and buy a diamond wedding ring for the engagement. Having our marital ritual dictated by De Beers just doesn't sit well with me.

So, I'm looking for something unique, it could be a ring, or it could be something else, like a pendant, a crown, whatever, but it must be something worthy of representing my love for her, and of course, it must be special. What better place to look for such a talisman than the Burn community?

If there are any jeweler/artists out there that might have something for me, or if you know someone who might have just the sort of thing I might be looking for, perhaps you can Psssssst ... let me know here!

where do you live fledgling?
search for non-mainstream jewlers ...maybe on craigslist.post a wanted ad.

The reason your post popped at me is that we were married last year on playa...and I will tell you we went through the same issues...F*%&#!!!

Took us months for me to find something that....I liked, Im actually still looking for another piece to add to it, for the gems I have to be set in...but It almost seems as if artistic designers hide.

We couldn't afford fancy rings like we wanted so we went with the basic silver bands. For our 10 year anniversary this year we "upgraded" to something with a nice hand woven braid. There seemed to be jewlers all over that made stuff by hand when I googled it. Tribe.net might be a place to look for burner jewlers if nothing pans out here.

I work in a jewlery store in Hawaii.... We sale Black Pearls....the owner of the shop makes and designs his own stuff....If you can draw it he can make it, dosen't have to be a good drawing...

Yes, funny thing...I think Titwi and I paid less then $50 for both rings total.
His I found at Hippies a local head shop in Sparks mine we found on the Net, a simple silver band with a celtic triple knot( was differnt from all the other triple knots Id seen)

ok, now this just came errrr "back" to me, the minds a funny thing to take out and play with...but if ya dont pick up your toys you'll lose something....

The is a jeweler in Sparks,Nv. and Im searching my memory banks as I type for his name...BOB....hammilton? Robert something...will do more searching as coffeee kicks in, but he is the designer and maker of the "man" pendant that soooo many of us have(I heard they were shwag in 05') I didnt receive mine till 06'

I had his card too dadnabit....but its somewhere in my playa cluttered sewing room, thats also under construction.....

I think I might try real hard for ya too...as I think I just found whom I would love to make my gem band.
