'Tis the season
Blinky light time! Okay, the Halloween clearance is over, but the Xmas lights are on the shelf. Sometimes you have to grab them now, they sell out. We've found LED lights at almost every big box or craft store, and all of the displays seem to run off batteries. I even found SOLAR led strings at Tar-gut, and small battery operated packs which will be great for costume embellishment or just plain lighting up.
What else is out there?

You could use the snow globe to roll around the playa in - like a hamster ball!

Anyway, back on topic...
Sorry for all the links, but here goes:

http://www.littlebrightlights.com/site/ ... age/777017
and these guys are offering this year-round:

All found by searching "Battery Powered String Lights" on Yahoo. I'm sure someone who has more time would find much much more.
Warning: Science Content! Also, this link is a good tutorial for those (like me) who are educationally-challenged when it comes to anything electrical, yet who want to have battery or non-wall-socket powered lights.

Okay, so ten out of ten for style, but minus several million for good thinking, yeah?

You can poke holes in a pingpong with a hot soldering iron, just do NOT breathe in the fumes.
And for those of us in snowy climes: GOGGLES!!! In places like Ogden you cannot find goggles in summer unless they are swim goggles or paintball goggles. Generally, neither is satisfactory for the desert. Time to hit the sniagrabs for bargains.

Re: globe lights
I've seen 'them' (something similar, anyway) at OSH and IKEA as Xmas tree lights.Ko-Shin wrote:Does anyone know where people got those amazing white globe lights that changed colors? some people had them and there was this amazing light art project in 2006 and 2007 that was this magikal blanket of shifting lights and you could look with 3d glasses.
