I used to believe in Noguchi, but then his art suddenly disappeared and the landscape behind it reappeared.

The ones who inspire me tend to be people who make things you can touch (or that could be touched), not things that hang on the wall (there are of course exceptions, and Fra Angelico probably has the only painting that made me cry, just because it was so beautiful)

How could I forget? Thanks for reminding me Pinemom.
My Mom, who painted beautiful landscapes and portraits. She it was who taught me to appreciate art. Even the "wierd" stuff. She was the one who encouraged me to play an instrument even though I ended up choosing one she did not like. The place where art and artists really changed my life begins with her!

I like Horta's lines. I'd like to know more about the people who made the stuff he envisioned. I suspect some of the metalwork was done by (or under the supervision of) a fellow named Louis Majorelle, but that's just because the "handwriting" looks similar.

Raymond Subes (metal worker) is another whose lines I like.

And Karine turned me on to a painter named Sigmar Polke. But even still, I agree that the stuff that you can touch wins more often than not with me too.

Piet Mondrian.

I really like how through out his painting career you can see through his sequence of paintings how he gradually strips down and reduces objects such as trees to pure geometric abstractions.

Not for everyone but then most artists aren't.
