Ahhhhh my first burn.... thanks for asking myredcarpet

My first burn was beyond belief 2003...And it was BEYOND BELIEF-I had heard about the burn for about 10years. (but I know now you don't come to Black Rock City before your ready)

I was in a super weird state...I had given up on the general public I felt like everyone SUCKED and was SHitty and only wanted to take advantage of you. (20 years of stripping will do that to you )

Anyway I came to BRC by myself-drove from Las Vegas.
I arrived on Tue. went left instead of right and ended up at 9:15 and the second to the last ring.

I only scanned the survial guide once...Sooooo I did not know what to expect. (Its a good thing I grew up camping- and happen to have warm clothes and stripper costumes with me)

The guys across the street thought I was a RIOT-they were making bets (as I struggled to set up my tent and shade) of how long I would be staying Thurs. was the consenses (did I mention I look VERY girlie girl)

I never got my shade up totally.... sooooo as they were between giggles -I went over to tell them I would be sharing their shade all week. (for making fun of me) In true burner style they welcomed me in and I have been using their shade ever since....

I call them Boys Camp they call themselves BLACKIES BAR AND GRILL
They are the BEST !!!!! And I love Them... As I do most everyone in BRC.

My first year I drank till I threw up my first night, hung out with about 30 GOOOD LOOOKKKKINNGGG Guys who all played my big brother at one point during week, got my ass kicked (I'm sure I needed it as the playa always provides) went on the roller coaster TWICE !!! (Once was NOT enough) Boys camp dressed as Oopaloompas AND I FOUND MY GOLDEN TICKET!!!!

Barbie, you'll have to let everyone know when you write your book, I want to hear the rest of your story. It sounds like you had the life altering adventure of a lifetime. Yes, Burning Man can restore your faith in humanity and I'm glad it happened for you.
