Post by MarkoSDNC » Thu Jan 15, 2004 7:25 am

Hey all
I am going to BM this year for the first time , traveling with 2 buds who have been there before so Id like to meet up with some people online and there who are first timers to balance the experience a little more

Id also love to hear from anyone who has been and what your experiences have been like and what to expect.

:P
later all.....

Well I cant offer much, I am sort of in the same boat. I am going this year for the first time as well. I will be meeting my brother and his girl as well as my sister...so I think I will be in good hands. But I would like to see other friendlys as well.

there is a blossoming burning man community in san diego (links to wh9ich should be able to be found on the main website). they do stuff year round which will provide you with much better insight into the event than anything online probably ever could.

its gonna be my first burn as well... infact, my first time in the area even... i want to go with some friends, but half the time plans are made, expecially plans like these, most people ditch out so i might end up going alone. but hey, ill get the chance to meet all of you awesome people there, and hopefully get to know some of you a bit more through these forums...

Going alone is the best!!!

Tonka,

Despite hailing from the Bay Area and knowing a fair amount of Burners, my first year (01) I ended up going solo and it was AWESOME!!!

If you are nervous, I would recommend hooking up with a crew like Solo Collective (which I joined my first year) because having access to communal shade (and other like-minded folks) is nice, but as long as you are well prepared you will be fine.
