From what I've read and such, the Bible ,especially the older parts, are just re-writes of existing fables that might possibly have some truths behind them. Back to Sumerian times and even older with the creation and flooding histories/tales. As for Moses writing the Torah, I don't think it's possible if you look at the evidence in hand.
Iv'e never really delved into Who actually wrote the first five books,
unless your meaning who translated/edited them(improperly) into the KJV that has been the mainstay since.

My hypothesis is it was written by someone educated in Greek, since all early gospels were written in greek and those persons would have been knowledgeable in Greek/Roman/Egyptian myths along with Judaism.
