Well, Jesus said to let your yeses be yes and your noes to be no.

But then that king and Abraham vowed to be trading buddies.... and the king wanted Abraham to vow to his God, which he did.

so, depending on which time frame...

Psalms says to keep all your vows but better yet don't vow at all.

Legally, wax seals were used for a while, but are not used any more. Filing with some gov. agency replaced it (public record).

Chapter and verse is way to hard.... I can paraphrase though (is that good enough?)

What exactly is your idea about "Christians" anyways? (a part from history, but from a personal interaction view)

Now, I don't really like that term too well. I prefer to just be known as a follower of Christ.

The term Christian was never used by Jesus. He said, "If you love me, do what I say." Nothing about what to call one self. In fact, the Bible is full of proclaimations against calling one self anything. So I try not to call myself any name. I just do (or better yet, I try to do what he said).

To me the term "Christian" covers anyone
who believes that Christ was the son of God.
And yes, that includes Mormons.

You were maybe kinda close on one of your answers,
but when we are talking about the inspired or direct
word of God , I need a bonafide answer, preferably with
some Bible quotes to back it up.
