I so want to offer up "Xenuphobe" as an alternative, but I've pissed off enough people in the past couple of weeks.

Hope you're not including me on that list... (Nah... that thread was fun and it takes some serious work to piss me off!)

Anyhoo, back on topic!! 8)

I have several friends that are voting for Ron Paul, but I just haven't had the time to research his views enough to see if I want to or not.

My cousin is married to a Morroccan who's here on work visa and insisting that I NOT vote for him as Ron Paul is (in her opinion) a strict isolationist who would cancel his visa in a heartbeat and would make getting a citizenship/green card even harder than it already is.

Donna, can you elaborate what you perceive Mr. Paul's views to be on the subject of immigration, specifically immigration for skilled workers?

(I sound like a fucking debate moderator... *sigh*)
Okay, so ten out of ten for style, but minus several million for good thinking, yeah?

Alot of these "skilled" workers aren't all that skilled. Trust me, I've worked with some of em. Than again alot of American workers aren't taking pride in their work either. I recall a conversation with an Aussie friend some years ago about trade/labor/import/export stuff and the gist I got was in AU they try to keep everything in house to keep their people working. Only after their welders and machinist etc etc are employed and making parts in AU do they consider parts from others. This doesn't seem isolationist to me but rather common fucking sense to do whatever is necessary to keep our people working. As much as I dig the whole hippie lets fix the whole world mantra I gotta put my own countryfolk first. I gotta ackknowledge that some places are just plain fucked and cant be saved or fixed. Some folks don't want American/NWO solutions to their issues forced down their throats. Maybe a decade of isolationism will help us get our shit together. Immigration rules were different when my family came here. My grandfather had to be sponsored and work his ass off when he got here. The same should go for the current group.

Get this... Ron Paul wants to follow the laws... how about just following the laws on the books? That isn't what is happening right now.

Anybody a lawyer out there in eplaya land?

FUCK TOM TANCREDO, FUCK RON PAUL, AND FUCK ANYONE WHO WOULD TRY TO DENY ACCESS TO A PEOPLE WHO ONCED OWNED YOUR FUCKING LAND.

one day they will take it back and boot your asses up to canada.

Cabrons!

sorry, for all of you Gringos and Gringas....

Word in spanish with many different meanings. The real meaning is the male goat. Female is cabra and male is cabron. But slang use is far more common. Depending on countries it seems to have somehow different but similar meanings. A good definiton that would apply in almost all Spanish speaking countries would be asshole-fucker-bitch. In some places the word also means a person that is not with his partner. Example: Se fue de cabron. He went to fuck around. In this way it always has the connotation that he is looking for an affair.

Exactly why should I do mereth homework for her. She can Google Ron Paul just as easily as I can. I think she is more than capable of searching for the answer to her question. All his issues are on his webpage.

http://www.ronpaul2008.com/

Ron Paul wants to execute the laws on the books. The President is the executive officer as per the Constitution. Seems logical to me. At least he doesn't want to be the head of the World Police like all the other candidates.

Here is a perfect example of someone accusing another person of exactly what they are.

We now know you are a racist pig. So, it seems you hate white people and want them forced out of the West? Wow. Very Nazi of you Simon. And you say you are part Jewish and you want a whole body of people kicked out of a region? Wow again.

Maybe you should stick your head in a toilet bowl for about an hour and regain consciousness.

Lessee... I would say, right now, the VP running mate to Mike Huckabee?

This year's tickets - Huckabee & Paul VS Edwards & Dean.

Anything else - on either side - is 4 more years of the same old same old.

And I would vote for either of those. Yep. Opposite sides of a fence, but the best (last?) hope to return to a respected and strong, proud nation. Anything else is buying into a lie. Think about it.

I'd probably vote for either of those tickets also.

On some website someone was urging us to use "Buck" and "Doe" instead of "Billy" and "Nanny" as the latter were somehow vulger or impolite of something uncooth. For me that's a real "what have you been smoking" concept. "Buck Goat" and "Doe Goat" just don't have the rhythm of "Billy Goat" and "Nanny Goat."

Bringing in Oprah was a dumb move... you'll notice that she is not a "presence" any more... I haven't seen her of late....

Iowa caucuses:

RESULTS:
Obama 37.53; Edwards 29.88; Clinton 29.41
Huckabee 34; Romney 25; Thompson 14; McCain 13%; Paul 10%
(per the AP wire)

The point to be made for the critics is that Ron Paul was able to garner 10% of the vote...in a very competitive race. That is a significant story in it's own right.

I still won't vote for him as I want my vote to make more of an impact during this election cycle. I'd like to see a Clinton / McCain race but McCain really has to step it up for that to happen.

One other thing to remember about Obama's "win". Bill Clinton didn't win his first state until the Georgia primary...she intends to run a national race and I betcha now that the gloves will come off, Obama's going to fall like a guy getting a swift kick in the crotch.

But back on topic...this does bode well for Ron Paul to build the foundation he needs for a successful run in 2012 if Hillary doesn't get it, or 2016 if she does.

Won't Paul be 82 if inagerated in '17? I didn't like our last trip down the path of senility presidency, even if it's beginning to look like a golden age in comparison to what we
ve got now.

yea... looks like this year or not for Ron Paul... but there is a big push to get other candidate like him running for all sorts of seat everywhere.

Welcome to the new Republicians. (or should I say welcome back, as this is a move towards following the Constitution, not away from it)
