Burners without Borders?
Oxfam?
There's some sort of poetry in the inner city charity that I remember hearing about.
Pick one you like, or if you have the resources to allow selections, 5 or so for the briber to choose from.
Or maybe glowsticks for darktards or some other playa cause.

I have a problem with bringing Glow Sticks and such to "Gift" because I had such a hard time getting people to except anything from me in 2007. Face masks, ear plugs, books, "ALMOST" everyone said "No Thank You". It made me feel well... kind of icky, but I digress.theCryptofishist wrote:or if you have the resources to allow selections, 5 or so for the briber to choose from.
I do like the idea of selecting 5 or more charities to choose from on how you want to taint the election. That makes it even more realistic.
Do you have a link for those Charities?

Oxfam (Oxford Aid to the Famished) is pretty old and works on social justice as well as just feeding people.
Similerly, The Heifer Project gives animals to impoverished people, with the expectation that one offspring will go back to the project and with education about keeping the animals in a environmentally sensitive manner.
Runs a national hotline for Gay, Lesbian, Transgender, Bisexual, and Questioning youth, so they can talk to someone about what they are going through. (I"m guessing High School is still an outpost of hell for anyone different.)
Has its roots in the 05 Burn and a number of DPW workers and other burners who went to New Orleans in the Katrina aftermath. Currently they are in Peru (post earthquake) and Fernley, Nevada as well as other places.
I just pulled this from a Google search. I don't really know what arts program to direct you to. I'll post a link to a local one too, but that's in Oakland and I'm not sure if something really local is what you want. so here's a list. It's from a site that might help you find something to your taste if the implicit politics of mine don't appeal to you.
the Museum of Children's art
There are hundreds more. I doubt any are perfect, but many, or at least some, are good.
On the other hand, you could give them tee shirts that say "I tried to buy an Election and all I got was This Lousy Tee Shirt."

I guess what I meant by making it foolproof was that it should work, in the sense that pushing a button does something, rather than cause the machine to die or reboot or something like that. The last thing you want to be doing is spending a lot of time making sure the computer is running.erri2000 wrote:

4. I kind of like the idea that it is not fool proof, I kind of like the idea that you may end up voting for "Mothra" or "Little Lulu Go Fuck Yourself" Since the results don't matter. Although I am going to try to design it to work as best as possible. ADA compliant and all.
I like the idea of a mobile voting booth. Maybe you could even take pics of the voters as they vote to completely remove anonymity.
It's going to be alright.
I understood, just joking around. What if there was only one button? So you could nominate anyone you wanted but then only have one choice.sputnik wrote: I guess what I meant by making it foolproof was that it should work...
