Dana, I agree that many people have been thumped one too many times. But may I counter that those that thump are not "real" believers. They are facists, ur... I mean wolves in sheeps clothining actually trying to turn people off. The Bible warns of these.

All I'm saying is this: when I really looked at this issue many moons ago two things become apparent.

1. Jesus didn't hurt anybody and what he says won't hurt anybody either - so anybody who does get hurt is hurt by people not Jesus. Jesus should not be judged by what other people do, even if it is in "his name." These others just might be lying.

2. If the worse sin is hypocrisy (which I stated above) then isn't it kinda hypocritical to take advantage of "Christian" or Western culture and all the things it provides without doing your part in maintaining it?

Just my thoughts... These are the two conclusions I came to and why I now try to do my best to follow Jesus and maintain Western Culture - so maybe my grandkids (if I have any) can have the blessing I've had.

Disclaimer: I am not thumping anyone in this statement. It is only my own thoughts and conclusions.

I agree with you 100 percent. Be free to dream of a better world for our great-great-great- (etc.) -grandchildren.

Now here are my issues:

I have no idea what you mean by this.

Anyone can grab an image off the web and post it as one of their own.
I've become marginally good at tracking down image sources and that one didn't come up even going 20 pages deep with the major search engines and using some proprietary tools ....again nothing came close.
But I wrote that I was skeptical and that hasn't changed...and I doubt I'm alone with my thoughts.To change that a suggestion that's been made in the past on the board would be to take a picture that shows you putting your left hand on your right ear while not covering your face and then it's believable.

I will say thanks for helping me to recalibrate my "anti-bullshit meter". It's registering about 8.2 and climbing.

Kinetic, your BS meter is working just fine on this one (got the photo off photobucket) - BUT I stated "(well, not really, but the resemblance is pretty good, eh Donna?)" which indicates that the photo is indeed not of me and Donna but the blond resembles Donna (vaguely, considering I've only seen the two avatars on EPlaya and never met her in person) and the person on the right does resemble me (again vaguely). Though I have a very slightly larger bust and darker hair. I'd look like that after spending a couple days at the gym to lose my 1/2" love handles.
