Well this thread has been fun - we've established that the Scientologists will not be descending on Black Rock City looking for converts, learned a few facts, slung some mud, and found the chosen one.

I came in late. Had to email the "Chief" I was "discussing" something with Donna Matrix.

I have to say have met several scientologists in my life and I really have to say I know almost nothing about Scientology.

I did not find any to be secretive, but the "religion" of Scientologists' never really seemed to come up.

Here is a movie I wrote a long time ago. If I hacked it from the Scientologist let me know if you heard it.

Earth is populated by the retard children of another planet.

I thought of that when I was a kid.

NOT MEANT TO BE AN INSULT!!!!!

Is that like the Theon (and I apologize, I don't remember) thing that Aliens live in humans?

What does that mean to you?

Egads. I thought this thread was dead (and wish it still was). Verry tired, but don't like leaving unanswered questions around.
By "theon", I'm assuming you're referring to "thetan" which is the Scientology term for the soul/spirit. We created a new word for it so as to distinguish it from other people's concepts of what the attributes are of one's soul. It's not "your soul" like "your basket" or "your temper" it's YOU. That which views memories, makes decisions and chooses what to say, etc.
If anyone wants more information on what Scientology is you don't even need to buy a book or go into a church. Please go to the official website:
www.scientology.org as most of what's out there elsewhere is greatly altered, exaggerated or taken out of context.
The church has put together a catechism in the format of an FAQ which I've found to be most helpful in answering specific questions. I could attempt to answer the question that might come up, but it would be subject to my own interpretation based what I know (which isn't everything).
Here's the direct link to the FAQ.
http://www.scientology.org/en_US/religi ... index.html

If for some reason you refuse to go to the official site for some paranoid reason, there is also an accurate description at:
http://www.religioustolerance.org/scientol1.htm and this same site has some other worthy discussions re: Scientology or just religious tolerance in general that would benefit the outsider to read regardless of whether you agree with me or not.
As far as your specific question of that particular plotline and whether or not I believe that, well... Someone posed the question earlier of:
"If the population of Earth is growing and every human has a soul, where are all the new souls coming from?". I have a theory on this, but it is (at least to me) a theory that to me makes sense of that question, but may not make sense to anyone else and thus I won't elaborate further. Your plotline delineates one answer to that question. My answer is a different one.
Does that help?
Can we please just let this thread die a happy death?
Signing off with a yawn,
Mereth

Um, not if you have a genetic disorder ... ask my brother with cancer. While much of your health is based on your diet, there's evils lurking in your very own genes which can kill you. Don't make broad statements like that to a cancer survivor whose sibling is not going survive their own cancer. I know you mean well, but you just pissed me off to no end.

I love oatmeal, but I'd never try to substitute it for all of modern medicine.

AntiM, please forgive me for upsetting, you. I am sorry, can I give you a hug. I have no idea what you went through.

I do not hold any answers, except for myself. I am ignorant in a lot of things. And as modern medicine may hold the answer for some, for me the food stuff does work best it seems.

I will rephrase the statement as to try not to offend, I believe the answer to all my healths problems are in what I eat; not the drugs I take.

Again forgive me AntiM for upsetting you.

Please excuse me I have to go find that picture of that Orange Kitty that look like my "tommy cat" from years ago.

The word Thetan is a description of a being that directly comes from a physical place like a planet not a spritual existance. So, here we disagree: We Hellenics don't believe in Souls except we believe in spiritual being or "PSYCHE" thus become DAIMON: something like a universal conscienuousness. It is separate from your present being of which is just a superficial part of your earthly existance- if you don't mind me using the word: earthly ego! like in the Hades MYTH: You end up just a shadow of your former being.

If anyone wants more information on what Scientology is you don't even need to buy a book or go into a church.

But will someone call on me?

As far as your specific question of that particular plotline and whether or not I believe that, well... Someone posed the question earlier of:

Chicken? Please tell so I can psycho-analylze you!

Does that help?

NO!

Can we please just let this thread die a happy death?

Scientology will never die, but it might just fade away!
The truth is Scientlology is no way similar to Hellenism!

It's ok to be different and if scientology tries to steal our believes you are heading for major litigation.

Erri ... I read your post the same day I found my brother's condition had progressed to full-blown cancer, incurable at that. Put me over the edge a bit, hmmm? May you never experience such a thing, but if you do, I hope you can appreciate medicine which can save a life. Not every drug is evil in every circumstance.

AZ, I didn't say they were similar, I said we have things in common. Here's exactly what I said:
I have come to the conclusion that we actually have a lot in common but are just expressing it in different ways. There are things that we will have to agree to disagree on, but for the most part the underlying spirituality runs in an at least somewhat similar vein.
Here's what we agree on AZ:
1) You are not your body. You HAVE a body.
2)"no such thing as the "karma" of the eastern theocrats exists, and no "judges" exist in the skies or elsewhere". Agreed.
3)"No, we do not believe in METEMPSYCHOSIS (Re-incarnation) suffering or prospering in this life to pay for or be rewarded for the bad or good actions of previous lives, but instead simply in PALIGENESIA (Rebirth)." In the sense of "karma determines your role in your next life", we are in agreement that this does not exist, but that you are simply reborn into a new body.

All quotes are from your original post on page 2 of this thread which was beautifully explained and I thank you for it.
The word Thetan is a description of a being that directly comes from a physical place like a planet not a spritual existance.
I never said or indicated that this was the case. I absolutely believe that the thetan/soul/psyche however you want to call it is not native to the physical plane of existence but is "pulling the strings" from elsewhere. IMHO, the brain is nothing more than a relay system.

As far as my beliefs re: where did we all come from and why I'm not spelling it out? You're right, I am a chickenshit on that. I fully acknowledge this. Again, I have a theory, but I have no way of proving it right or wrong to anyone else and it might make no sense to anyone else, thus I'm keeping it to myself.

Erri2K, we are in agreement that lifestyle (including food, exercise, the method of dealing with life as it happens) is a major, major influence in one's health. Whether or not genetics leaves you pre-disposed to things like cancer... well I certainly think that it's likely. The link I led to was a study on exercise vs drugs and exercise won. I just listed that as an example of how drugs aren't the sole answer in the universe - why does everyone think that I'm advocating drugs when they click on that link? Is the link wrong? (checks it again... nope.)

I want to know. I have a theory that since energy can neither be created nor destroyed and there is only so much mass on the plant, there are no new souls just recycled ones that have been chopped and mixed in the blender of life. So "We" go through a continuous period of recycling of our "Self" almost being able to be reborn. So we are not really ever one person, but many different people over the course of our "Conscience" of this perception of life.

As for where does new "People" come from? That is easy, it is all about the "cancer" that eats the most of the planet. Humans devoureevery resource on the plant, eventually, so eventually every resource would be human, or human waste if the waste was not eaten buy the humans.

Yes, thanks for clearing up those questions. If that is what scientologists, that's more enlightening then the Big Three's religion.
mereth wrote: I absolutely believe that the thetan/soul/psyche however you want to call it is not native to the physical plane of existence but is "pulling the strings" from elsewhere. IMHO, the brain is nothing more than a relay system.

OK we don't agree on that one. We believe that you are you with no one "pulling the strings" up above, below or anywhere. No "devil made me do it" just to make a statement. Sub-conscience or any other internal forces can affect you, but they are within you and emanate from you.

As far as my beliefs re: where did we all come from and why I'm not spelling it out? You're right, I am a chickenshit on that. Can you PM me on that theory? What's your price? Come on, scientologist all have their price for Knowledge. You pay for it, sell it too me too!

Just kidding of course.

If I let this thread, fade, and I can 't speak for the others, I will only resurrect it for nostalgia or for answers. Umm, OK!

That is just stinkin thinkin. How could that be?

When you get out of the bath tub you take some water with you? When "you or your body dies"

I will be back.

Edit---
When I die in the life that I know, I know that my energy is redistributed through the "Universe" but the energy I released is not the same energy I was born with.

When our energies pass through each other they take something from the other. So they are always in flux, but trapped.

Although that does not mean that our bodies are hell, they may be our hell, but hell is from the imagination of bad writers.
