I know it's easy to create multiple email accounts, but is there something to keep people from creating more than oe eplaya account with the same email? How about a way to keep people from replying to their own posts (not that I ever do that...)? It's just so tedious... :(

I beleive we already have a restriction on one account per email. It's easy to get around, though. Moderators can see the IP address used for a post but restricting one user per IP wouldn't stop some really determined socks and would stop some otherwise valid users, such as two people posting from the same office/home.

There are valid reasons to reply to your own post. It's just that occasionally someone finds it amusing to abuse the system.

We're still trying to decide what to do about Zsu-Zsu, keep the comments coming. The storm seems to have died down for the moment.

Sometimes a single flashlight suffices for roach control. ;)

I reply to my own posts alot in the welding thread.. but this is only to provide MORE helpful welding projects, tips, videos etc.

I suspect that Erri may have more serious issues that we cannot help him/her with. Only time will tell if he/she is serious about community participation. I like Jelly.. one of my fondest memories from the playa was listening to Jelly do impersonations. I have nothing but tons of respect for the man and his art. I have no idea why someone would want to hijack someone elses art/idea in such a blatant manner but its just wrong. Damn near everyone here knows who concieved of ZsuZsu and many of us are looking forward to that trailer gettin lit up at weeks end.

Like UD mentioned.. sometimes one flashlight can cause all the roaches to scatter.

Ayiyiyiyi. I'll try a PM, although I have reservations if it will be effective. Pointed out to Dork, we'll see what we can do. In the meantime, either plonk or well, you folks are the community, I have great faith in the combined powers of persuasion eplaya can cough up when pressed.

Ah yes, sorry. Figured a quick "posts by user" was easy enough to not bother with the urls this time. :)

Have you tried finding anyone using the userlist? Try it sometime; it sucks, you can't pull up individual users, only the long, long list in entirety. I can use the search feature, but all that gives me is the entire thread. I don't need all the urls, just one to get started.

You can find individuals, but only if you have the name exactly right to start with.

Search by name and post (rather than topic) and when you get the right name go to profile.
But it only works when the name is exactly right.
I have complained about this lack of ability to search before by section of the list.

The standard search form comes up with topic and post as an option.
Topic works fine unless it's 500 pages.
Post is just easier.
Put the name in as author.
That's all.
