The Cruise Indoctrination Video Scientology Tried To Suppress
http://gawker.com/5002269/the-cruise-in ... o-suppress
(Note: This link may not work at any time after posting due to the serious suppression efforts underway...it's worth a look)
You have to watch this video. It shows Tom Cruise, with all the wide-eyed fervor that he brings to the promotion of a movie, making the argument for Scientology, the bizarre 20th-century religion. Making the argument is an understatement. The Hollywood actor, star of movies such as Mission Impossible, is a complete fanatic. "When you're a Scientologist, and you drive by an accident, you know you have to do something about it, because you know you're the only one who can really help... We are the way to happiness. We can bring peace and unite cultures." There's much much more. Let me put it this way: if Tom Cruise jumping on Oprah's couch was an 8 on the scale of scary, this is a 10.

Well yes, but what is the difference between Tom Cruise and any other hard core religious fanatic? You can be an utter off-the-wall nutcase in any religion, they all have their fair share. Lambasting Tom Cruise is like lambasting Fred Phelps.
From my (non) religious beliefs, I don't get any of it. But there are wack job atheists too. Citing Tom Cruise neither lends credence nor critique to the religion itself.
I call straw man.

The other, other white meat.
Even though I think L.Ron was out for money and full of b.s., ultimately, I don't care if a person chooses to believe in Scientology or not. In the U.S.A., in theory, a person is free to believe in whatever they want. What I don't like is how the Church of Scientology is run, and how the religion has been historically practiced. (And those criticisms can be applied to more than Scientology-- it is just that they have been particularly aggressive. Kind of like the Neo-Cons, come to think of it.)
Tom Cruise is a nut job, and probably needs medication. David Miscavage(sp?), the guy who is the head of the Church of Scientology, seems to be another nut case in need of medication, so the two probably get along fairly well.
As far as I can tell, mereth is okay. From what I can tell, the lower level Scientologists are not bad-- I think some of the problem might have to do with being considered "above the law" for the higher level folk. Then again, this is just idle speculation on my part.

I agree. Tom is just alittle over-animated and acts like the Ritalin has been prescribed in a too high dosage. I've seen people like David Miscarrige in other cult religions like, C.U.T. and Envangelistic christians- highly intelligent with the ability to change the focus of questions to something else- avoidance behavior trained!BAS wrote: Tom Cruise is a nut job, and probably needs medication. Mereth seems to be different like a person who deeply find a stability and rationale from their beliefs.
Therefore, I elect mereth to be person who will carry on and lead Scientology into the future as the reincarnation of Ron L. Hubbard!

ps- Mereth thanks for the PM, but you didn't answer my question on if you believe of an immortal Evil being or beings!
Hmmm... I'll try to take all this as a complement...
And AZ, I DID answer your question. The answer is NO I do not believe in the Devil or some other overriding force of evil that is responsible for all the evils of the universe. My "not answering the question" was that I gave you an example of something that is the closest thing there is to it, thus indicating that no such thing does in fact exist in my belief system.
As far as Tom Cruise, the reincarnation of Mr. Hubbard, etc, etc. I highly suggest you read the denial/disclaimer/facts that the church sent to the Today show in advance of their interview with the author of the recent unauthorized "biography" of Tom Cruise.
To be succint in case you don't want to read all 15 pages: there's about as much fact in there as the Weekly World News/Bat boy and every other greasy grimy gopher guts tabloid out there.

That said, I'm in agreement with Rob the Wop's post.

What? There is no Devil?
Crap. All those good sermons gone to waste.
Well I agree. The devil, in his many and various forms, was created to generate more converts and coerce the existing members to stay in (insert religion here). And scare little children.
The only thing that is truly evil is to do nothing.

I'd say that codpiece is definitely fantasy...
*snicker*
Battlefield Earth was intended to be fictional sci-fi with some satire, of which I'm sure there's better examples of that elsewhere. And yes, the movie sucked big hairy donkey balls.
I'm not big on space opera shit anyway. I do however like Harry Potter, LOTR, His Dark Materials, McCaffrey's Dragons of Pern, etc.
Are you going to say Scientologists believe in elves and dragons now?

It is a compliment! You have shown great wisdom and though I feel that you have been taxed in responding you have keep your repose.mereth wrote:Hmmm... I'll try to take all this as a complement... :?

I like that response. We believe all immortals are on levels higher then we comprend and it would be foolish to try. Is that response your own or is it the view of the church as well? If so, that is a tribute to your religion's beliefs. Higher Evolution equal higher compassion and empathy.
When we lead the followers of others where do we lead them to? Hopefully to greater levels!

Which response? The good and evil thing (which (I think) is the church's and my own view) or my response to Rob's post (which is just my own view, as far as T.C. is concerned, for now)?

Sorry, I forgot I already posted it. I am not trying to make you mad at all. I am only trying to illustrate how vile and disgusting this criminal cult is in the hopes that you will not be one of the many victims of theirs.mereth wrote:The above video was already posted earlier in the thread.
What new response were you looking for?
Are you trying to make me mad at you or something?
I do have a few questions though.
Why does your system of beliefs call for my death by any means necessary only because I will not follow your "religion"?
Why does Scientology need its own military force?
Current law prohibits terrorism..
Why does Scientology still promote terrorism?
Why do Scientologists want to take over the world and kill anyone that stands in their way?
L Ron Hubbard is DEAD! He died a scumbag criminal in hiding.
Why on earth would you believe any of their tripe?

Not possible.. the questions are neither bigoted, imflammatory, biased, twisted, hostile, rabble-rousing or antagonistic.mereth wrote:Would you care to rephrase your questions so they are not so bigoted, imflammatory, biased, twisted, hostile, rabble-rousing and in general antagonistic?
The questions are simple and to the point.

Let me re-phrase my statement:
All of your questions are of the "Do you still beat your wife?" variety. Neither yes or no is the right answer as there is an incorrect underlying assumption implied in the question and thus are not fair questions.
Again, please re-phrase.

Are you Clear or OT in Scientology?
MAKE ONE MILLION DOLLARS!
Yes folks thats TRUE!
YOU COULD MAKE ONE MILLION DOLLARS JUST FOR BEING A SCIENTOLOGIST.
Do you think you are Scientologist enough to take challenge?
http://www.randi.org/research/index.html
To date NO Scientologist has been able to make it through the preliminaries.. guess they didn't have enough audits to get Xenus blessing.

OK I'll take that as REFUSAL to answer questions from an SP like myself.mereth wrote:Let me re-phrase my statement:

My final questions.. and the REALLY IMPORTANT ONES..
Why are you here with us SPs?
Whats your take on the "fair game" policy with respect to your interactions with Burningman participants and the users of ePlaya?
Tom Cruise says its time to Clean Up the world!
Since this is required of all true Scientologists on a DIALY basis and NOT optional regardless of level...
What are your plans to deal with folks like us that won't pay for the audits?
I really am honestly interested in answers to my questions..
I know you feel that I am attacking you.. this is not true.
I lost one good friend to Scientology.. I don't want to see you disappear too. I kinda like you.. I think you are severly misguided but salvageable as a human. I even suspect that you know very little of Scientology.. certainly not OT3 level else you wouldn't be here at all. How about you give yourself a chance at being free.. try reading some of the links ppl have posted here instead of just the youtube. The truth WILL set you free.

I'm pretty sure Xenu is the enemy, Toolmaker. That seemed pretty clear when I read OT III. Hubbard's notes also indicated that he wasn't certain if the name was "Xenu" or "Xemu". Anyway, he was, IIRC, the Galactic Overlord who called for everyone he wanted to get rid of to come in for a tax audit, then adducted them via spaceship to Earth, which had a name something like Teegac (I am fairly certain I spelled that wrong.) He then imprisoned them in volcanoes at various sites around the planet, and set off nukes in the volcanoes. (That is the incident depicted on the cover of Dianetics, or at least was back in the early 1980s. Why Hubbard would put that on the cover of a book distributed to the general public if he felt exposing people to something out of OT III too early would harm them, I haven't a clue.)
Xenu then gathered up the spirits of the people as they died-- the thetans, then tortured them with movies for a long period of time. The movies had, among other things, images of the Crucifixion, which was his explanation for why some many people believe they are the reincarnation of Christ. There was more to it, but what I have written here is probably enough that I am risking getting sued by Scientology, much like Keith Henson. (Of course, suing a custodian would only cost them money and generate bad publicity, so hopefully they won't bother. Course, if mereth tells them I posted this, the odds of my getting sued increase.)
Eh, we will see what happens.

Here is a funny...
My grandmother ,Rest in peace, Was one of the most sincerest Christian woman I have ever known.
She had the ability to heal with her touch(dead serious saw it with my own eyes!It was my daughter!)
She talked in Tounge.
She prayed in the morning noon and night.
She prayed for people she didnt know.
She took a trip to Isreal...with who you ask....Ron L. Hubbard
Go figure?!
Really I think that everyone can think and beleive what we want.
Im sure she didnt truely beleive in what he beleived, but it wasnt beneath her to share quality time with people of other religious/non-religious beliefs. As a Matter of fact, she never wavered in her beleif but always spent time with even full head strong Atheists. But they didnt discuss religion. they just enjoy each others time and friendships.
