Over 50 camps?

I'm looking to go to the 08 burn and am looking to join an over 50 camp. Do they exist? Any suggestions? I live in SF.

burners are getting older so there should be some 50+

i m 70 and don t want to hang with a bunch of old fucks..

Why would you want to segregate yourself from all the beautiful youth and vitality of the younger generations?
I camped with people this year whose age range was from 20 something to 70 something and had the best burn of my life!
BTW I'm 50 something

I've always thought that Burning Man would be a great place to go to die. But current events make it seem that you may have set the age limit a bit high.

now that IS funny, seems that yes, all age ranges are out there, but in my muddlings seems that for the most part, yes BM is older peeps...well, think about it...alot of people have kids, that they dont want to take, so they wait till the kids are older and pawn them off on the grandparents...to go.
Or they're younger and their still establishing themselves in a job,or still doing their college, so they cant take the time off PLUS afford the ticket/food/campgear/etc....

That was my excuse for 13 yrs...I watched from afar, raising my 2 kids by myself...hell I couldnt afford a ticket...not to mention leave 2 kids upon someones doorstep...for a week+

My first year 06' I applied for a scholorship and was awarded a 95.00 ticket.And joined a Theme camp.
This year I got married to a burner I met last year, bought our full priced tickets...gifted thoughs to our older kids to come, one just to watch the wedding...paid for our performers tickets...and my youngest(last in the house)14yrs old got a scholorship ticket(by herself). And we started a new theme camp losely based on the first theme camp. $$$$$$$$$$

Lots o $ goes into Burningman sometimes....I know you can do it losely for the price of ticket and bare minimums, but thats pushing it.
Not to mention if ya dont live as close as we do, there's travel expensences.............

Maybe thats why so many burners are older, takes awhile to save up!!

This year I was not the oldest in camp, I came in second at 50. One of our newbs claimed Eldest at 64. But I can't imagine not hanging with the kids.

(No, they're not technically my kids, but we're some kind of mutant glob of family. Nice!)

As 1st yr burners, we were in "The Elders" theme camp...terrific group of people between 50 and 75.

they really are fabulous. If I can find their contact info I'll either post something here & msg you privately.

They're based in SF & really super nice.

I met people who were 10 or 11(cool little Dude) to a Virgin who was 79,and she was having a blast

I'm 53, and the thought of finding a 50+ camp never crossed my mind...

I mean.. I realize that sometimes people don't get my references, but then sometimes other than just feeling old I have a ball explaining the reference. The wonder in the young one's eyes when they look at me and thing, "What is this old fart talking about !!!!"
