From their site:

OK, I understand a little better now. (And by the way, my response wasn't directed at you personally. I just needed one of the many responses against Cruise to quote.)

Yeah, I suppose its a little like all of the various movie stars that jump on various band-wagons of some kind of "righteous merit". Like when Colorado was named the "Hate state" for the anti-gay activities of the religious right, and the stars decided they would take a really strong stance and boycott Colorado...... Until they decided they really miss their posh pads in Aspen, just a little too much.

Oddly enough though, I'm not sure whether I personally feel that my own worth or value has that much to do with my helpful acts and the numbers of people who were genuinely greatful that I was there at a particular moment. It still seems more internal.

Scientology legal team working on supressing free speech. Wiki on Project Chanology expected to be deleted.

Looks like some are fed up with Scientology and this looks to be an exciting year for these folks bent on world domination that call themselves Scientologists.

It also looks like this "anonymous" group may be bad news.. alot of what they have planned is a little over the top. Faxing Black pages to run out ink is a novel idea however. Staging protests and handing out flyers is also good and acceptable. But some of this stuff I've read today is a lil disturbing.. death threats, bomb threats, threats of rape. This is soo not cool. I hope that these things are not true. Scientology needs to be stopped but not with some of these methods. Alot of their members are just poor proles that don't know any better. Do they really deserve acts of violence? I really hate thinking when things get this thick and cloudy. I know the war was declared by CoS against the rest of us here on earth. But how much action is acceptable to take against them? Where is the line if any in war? Should we really stoop down to level of Scientologists and adopt their "fair game" policy as a measure to protect our freedoms?

Either way, no matter what, it looks to be a really exciting year for CoS. I certainly would not want to be counted as one of theirs if even half of whats "planned" is done. One thing I find strange.. no mention of attacking their military forces at sea. I would think that in a real war military targets would be of more value than civilians.

Oh well.. just ranting some random thoughts about all this CoS hooplah on da news n stuff.

Mormon Church president Gordon Hinckley dies at 97

http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/ ... 63,00.html

January 29, 2008 12:00am

MORMON Church president Gordon Hinckley has died of natural causes in Salt Lake City, Utah, at 97. A church spokesman said a successor wouldn't be appointed until after the funeral.

But if tradition is followed, Thomas Monson, 81, the senior member of the church's quorum of the Twelve Apostles, will take over.

Mr Hinckley, revered as a "prophet, seer and revelator" by almost 13 million Latter-Day Saints worldwide, had served in the top job since 1995.

The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints claims a worldwide membership of 13 million, fewer than half of which are in the US; 36 per cent of members live in Latin America and 17 per cent outside the western hemisphere.

Mr Hinckley was born on June 23, 1910, in Salt Lake City, to Bryant Strigham and Ada Bitner Hinckley.

He began his church service as a young man in Britain, and held a number of important posts.

As a member of the First Presidency, the highest governing body of the church, he had a major role in administering both the ecclesiastical and temporal affairs of the church, whose members are spread over 160 nations and territories.

He was the first church president to travel to Spain, where in 1996 he broke ground for a temple in Madrid, and to Africa, where he met thousands of Mormons in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Zimbabwe, and South Africa.

During his tenure, the church grew by more than three million members, printed the 100 millionth Book of Mormon, and underwent a huge temple-building effort, which saw him travel extensively worldwide.

Mr Hinckley was predeceased by his wife.

CNN's Florida election coverage last night with Anderson Cooper wasn't that bad, and of course there are two nights of debates coming up that should be interesting TV.

Of course you missed American Idol...and the Omaha auditions. Contrary to what the show's editors tried to suggest in their final edit, there's some talented people up here. But watching that show last night made me cringe.

Speaking of news, it's nice to live in a place where the 10:00 news doesn't open every night with 5 minutes of shootings, drug busts, crack hos being caught in stings servicing politicos, carjackings, the latest fuckups of the dumbest mayor to run a larger city in America, and over-hyped weather. Ohmygawd, we're going to have 1 inch of snow! Batten down the hatches, raid the stores, stock up like it's Y2K all over again. nope...I don't miss that at all.

Anyway we now return to the much more interesting CoS thread and the latest misadventures of Xenu and his misguided minions.

CNN? Yeah right!

When bush traveled through the middle east, CNN along with other American media didn't report on it.
in it's place they reported on the elections.
People that watch the election coverage are missing out on all the events that were/are going on in the world.

It is a fact.

Right now I'm in a place that's on the fringe of over the air TV signals. Even with an external TV antenna I got 2 channels, and only one of them clearly. So we finally broke down and got "cable" which is nothing more than a feed off someone's Direct TV dish that gets offered to various small towns around these parts. 25 channels and HBO is all you get and forget about HD. So CNN is all I have...otherwise the TV would be stuck on HGTV or QVC by the others in the house. So I'll take my CNN and smile. (Can't do my own satellite yet..not my place so can't put up the dish)

Welcome to the eplaya! You haven't been here very long, eh? Well, it's not as wild as it used to be but it's not exactly tame either. Quite a few people like it like this...it's a nice, happy medium between the old wild days and being boring.

If you prefer less rough and tumble online discussions I suggest you check out this website for a comprehensive list of Barbie cat rooms and BBS's...they should be...less aggressive.

Buhwahahahaha...

According to my copy - my FOUND - copy of the Scientology 'Technical Dictionary' it would seem that you are at what the term describes as an
ACCEPTANCE LEVEL, 1.

Paraphrased here (because I wouldn't want to be posting copyrighted material on a public board) it references the level of willingness of a person to accept people or things for what they are and what they say.

Are you or aren't you an Acceptance Level, 1?

I had to call someone who had the dictionary to hand to find what you were referencing.
The dictionary gives two definitions of the term "acceptance level", but does not delineate what these levels are as in a graduated scale or some such in any other reference that my friend found, so I'm not getting what you're talking about.

It's:
"Acceptance Level (definition) 1"
not
"Acceptance Level 1"
That's not just my own supposition, that's how a dictionary works.

Please use your own words to clarify what you mean.

To Mereth, and any other Scientologists currently listening:

I'm sorry, but I just have to say this. The reason we (and by we, I refer to the vast majority of the worlds human population) have such a problem with Scientology is the same reason you would have trouble with someone whom you loved and cared about who decided that they needed to throw their money into storm drains on a daily basis to appease the magical Sewer Elves.

Belief in Scientology suggests deficiencies in the reasoning and logic centers of the brain bordering on actual physical neurological damage. It's not a religion. It's a CON. A long con, to be precise. And possibly the best con ever devised by man in the history of the world (with the possible exception of the Catholic Church's creation of the Devil). But, certainly more proportionally lucrative for those involved. The most ingenious part is that by making inclusion in the more "elite" levels of their organization so incredibly costly, in terms of money, time and energy, that it forces the mark to be so committed to their beliefs that they will actively find their own reasons and build their own mental structures to support the belief system. After all, who wants to spend $10,000 on a boat, just to find out it won't hold water? What would you do? You'd find a way to plug those damn holes, now wouldn't you? I would.

Listen, I'm not asking you to forsake the entire thing and go your own way, on my say so alone. All I'm asking you, from one human struggling to find meaning and truth in the world to another, is to ask the simple basic critical-thinking questions we've all been trained to:

What does Occums Razor tell you about the likelyhood of the stories you've been told in Scientology?

What reasons could possibly explain the astronomical cost behind each and every kind of "course" or "session" or "auditing"?

Why does L Ron Hubbard write about things that supposedly happened in date ranges that have been scientifically proven to be BEFORE the creation of the universe?

I honestly stay away from religious debate usually. Why? Because so much of it is completely unprovable one way or another. Believe in whatever diety keeps you happy. But Scientology isn't religion. Don't make the mistake of thinking of it in those terms. It's a lie. And a lie that can be proven to be so. All I ask is that you do yourself the courtesy of investigating that.

I'm not bringing up any accusations. All I am doing is bringing NEW stuff I find into this wonderful repository of all things Scientology. I do believe the NPR show was only a couple days ago and all the anon stuff is of course new. I KNOW the commercials are old but ya gotta admit that they are funny. One was aimed at geeks so maybe you didn't get it or are too young to remember the 80s computers. That one was more for DVD and Dork cuz I figured they might get a chuckle. I may have re-posted one or two, in which case I am so very sorry for accidentally re-posting or posting something similar to another. There is just soo much to do about Scientology these days thats it is hard to keep track. I really do believe that with youtube the camcorder police will be able to expose all sorts of truths. The question is.. Do you really want to know the truth?

Scientologists are free to avoid the thread if they cannot offer anything towards discussions or to expose any "lies" about Scientology. The problem is every Scientologist buttons up about their con game and always winds up talking legal mumbo jumbo about copywrites and whatnot.

While Radical Inclusion may include everyone at the event during the year the net is alive with political, religious, technical discussions. This will likely never stop amongst burners. We tend to be the type of folks that like to read from many different sources. If you poke around you will see many threads that get into quite serious matters.

This is THE OFFICIAL SCIENTOLOGY thread. Mainly because it has such a catchy title.

Oh yeah.. The Public Service Announcement was new too. Thats where ya can learn how to get in touch with Anonymous or somesuch.. ya know to help protest and shut down Scientology. Ya know.. Project Mayhem.. I mean Chanology.. or something.

Mereth.. just because alot of us can't stand Scientology doesn't mean we love you any less. We have nothing but love for you.. and some of us fear for you getting roped into this sort of thing. Hopefully you will find truth before poverty. If you need poverty to find truth just send me your money. I could use it this year. ;)

It's awfully hard to find a non-biased opinion on Scientology. I was just researching it a few months ago and the only thing i could find was Scientology saying how great it is or people who hate it condeming it. Everytime i found a seemingly nonbiased site i dug deeper and found it was financed by or just a splinter of Scientology.

Regardless of whether their beliefs are correct or not (and hell you have to have faith to believe in any religion, or in no religion for that matter) they have been guilty of some bad bad shit in the recent past. Of course most religions are guilty of bad bad shit at some point in their existence.

I just realized i havent really said much of anything in this post.....

also, you are right to doubt that Religious Tolerance website. One of the articles defending Scientology from Copyright Violations was written by a Scientologist who was investigated for the kidnapping of two children so they couldnt talk. Google Al Buttnor and its the second link down.

Scientology's legal problems are well documented. This, a couple suicides, Lisa McPherson, and of course the United States Guardians Office (a scientology spy factory with a gussied up name....hell look it up) just for starters. Look up the Introspection Rundown while you're at it. It's connected to Lisa McPherson who died alone locked up in a hotel surrounded my Scientologists unwilling to save her. Look at xenutv.com as well, it may seem to be quite bigoted due to its name, but look at some of the videos to see the ridiculous Always on the Aggressive tactics they use. I live pretty close to the Trust too, freaks me out.
