Good luck with that.

It might help if we could elect a few actual humans (Rep. or Dem.) for our leaders, but I`m afraid only a natural cataclysmic event here at home could slow the military machine`s progress abroad...

...The beat rolls on.

Party allegiance is for fools and should be a thing of the past. We must move on to new ground. We, as the people, must take back our government.

Do you want the government to follow the Constitution - the very document that created it OR do you want it to continue to run amuck?

I'd be happy if we were at least a reluctant, principled, and effective police force. Right now we're more of a mercinary force at the beck and call of big business and political ambitions. We'll start a war if it's a good political move, but not to stop atrocities that are good for business.

LOVE the picture. Yes, elect Humans (I see only one human in the race - the rest are machines of the destructive order). I see great evil issuing forth from the status-quo candidates. We are in for a world of hurt come November if any of them are elected. I, for one, am willing to bunker down - I just don't want it to come to that.

I have been and always will be of the Republic mode. I am the Republic Party - part of the people who support the Republic and the Constitution. I am only "Republican" to be able to vote for Ron Paul in the Primaries (I dislike the current party system). I swear NO alleigence to any group - and I mean to any group. I am one of "the people" - that's all.

So let's do this again. Have you or will you be voting for Ron Paul in a primary that requires you to declare a party?

If the Empire collapses, none of us will be able to afford to go to Burningman. Burningman exists by virtue of an enormous logistical pyramid, and it is all fueled by big oil. The Empire, by externalizing a lot of the costs of oil, has given us wealth such as the world has never seen. Central heat at the flick of switch, running water at the twist of knob and cars we can drive forever.

You think that all comes from pure American gumption and the "burner way?" Ha. It comes from generations of leaders making the best choices they could at the time to give their constituents the wealth they were demanding.

So yeah, rail against the Empire, but I also ask to be prepared to grow more of your own food, to walk a lot more, to shiver some and to take more responsibility for disposing of waste.

The Empire will end. Empires always end. The real question is how are you going to survive and thrive?

K5 - Like yea.... I already answered that. I am register "Republican" so I can vote in the primary for Ron Paul.... is that clear enough?

I suppose this is for the purpose of setting me up for some kind of attack because I am a registered voter... Well, come at me with both barrels... cuz I'm standing in the street with my hair trigger pistols just waiting for you to show your face in public...

"We'll clean up this here town of ours, come hell or high water."

Boy... I wish the wild west was still around. Course  street justice is alive and well but unfortunately only with criminal gangs and thugs.

Great accusation without substantiation.

Okay, now say something intellegent about the subject and quote your sources please.

yes... the question then becomes: Where do we want to put our energies into? Maintaining our over-seas empire... or taking care of our home turf? I vote for taking care of our home turf? Forget and forgo this stupid overseas empire....

I loved having Ron Paul on the Republican debate the other night. Though they didn't give him much of a chance to speak, when he did he scolded the other candidates for bickering and brought up all the questions and issues that really NEED to be addressed. For any Republican (or others) who may have had their blinders on the past 8 years, he was a very real and welcome WAKE UP call. Though I can't vote for him in the primaries, I think that he well articulated much of what we are thinking on a nation-wide forum.

As far as world occupation, hell no! We are acting like this century's Roman Empire and will fall just like history predicted if not careful. We are spread too thin and seem only to make 'friends' through force. I just don't know how we are supposed to just get out of this mess though, we are in so deep...

I think those are probably the right questions. It would truly be neat-o if America could transition to a less oil-based economy, one where our prosperity is not predicated on violence. But of course nobody gives up what the own without a fight, so what I am thinking about violates basic human nature.

No politician is going to change things. That's not how they get re-elected. Politicians get re-elected when they give people what they want, and what people want is cheap oil, cheap beer and NASCAR.

What I've done is start learning to grow and preserve food, walking to work (buying a home close enough to work to do so was not easy). Small things, but hopefully more and more people will start doing these small things and it will start having an impact.

All I ask from my government is this: Follow the Fucking rules you fucking fuck heads!

No really: The civil government must be forced to follow the rules by the checks and balances built into our system of government.

Kinda like disk cleaning - wait to long to clean your disk and it takes a long, long time to clean it. We haven't been cleaning up much lately - so it will take a bit of time to clean up the mess we've allowed to accumulate.

Well Ron Paul isn't anything new really and mostly sound bytes..

if you want a revolution you are gonna have to have one the old fashioned way.

unfortunate as it sounds it is the only way. Well maybe a revolution with a twist.

I lived in Fairbanks, Alaska for the past 3 years where survival was a daily part of life. We hunted and fished for meat, picked gallons of berries in the fall, and got water from a spring. We lived in a cabin with no running water though we did have electricity and oil heat. We dealt with an outhouse at -40F, composted, and had a grey water system. Had we stayed, we would have tried to use that 24 hour summer sun to charge some batteries too. Alaska was a simpler way of life, but took a lot of work. My man and I always say that we will survive when shit happens because of this experience. But it is surprising how soft we have become since only being back in CA for 4 months...

Whether we police the world or not, resources are going to become scarce sooner than later. WW3 will likely be over water. If not, mother nature is going to take most of us out anyway to bring the world back into balance. We're all DOOMED either way, but that's okay. The cycle will start up all over again. I haven't given up, never will, and I will survive!

Yes and No. We are dealing with two main fundamental issues and a huge problem.

The fundamental issues are:
1) procedure (voting, voter fraud, party systems, etc.)
2) substance (candidate's character and stands on issues)

While the huge problem is:
Media and information distribution (who's controling what informatin the masses receive). Sure, us wise ass computer people can find all the information we want. But not everybody is on the internet and they are confined to getting what is given them. Right now we have a HUGE propaganda machine that thinks and probably is in control of the majority of Americans.

All three of these things is gumming up the works. All three must be cleaned up. How? The only way possible: The people have to do it. We are the only ones with the power. But we have been told that we don't have the power by those that don't want us to use it. Hence, why we are still in the mess we're in.
