I've done it the wrong way a bunch of times when I was younger. I am damn lucky I didn't wind up like some of the ppl in those vids. I was using high percentage alcohol with a lighter like an asshole. I have been practicing PROPER methods for a coupla months now trying to get a nice fine mist. I'm gettin pretty good at doing it but for some reason I can't get more than 2 per mouthful of water and both of those are small shots.
I have given up on poi, after 3 months, a book, and 2 DVDs I am still hittin myself in the balls and face too much. I guess I just don't have the rythm for it.

If you already have asthma, firebreathing isn't a good idea.
Bear in mind when approaching firebreathing that it's not just burning your face etc that you are risking, it's also chemical burns in your lungs.
Practicing your spray methods with water is one way to reduce your chances of screwing your lungs.

I'm just trying not to be liveMOOP...
Civil rights: use 'em or lose 'em!

Pfft
Yeah, using alcohol to fire breathe is idiotic. It burns at a lower temp than Kero and it's much easier to set your face on fire. You can also still get drunk from spitting alcohol because you will ingest and absorb it white you fire breathe. Fire Breathing + Buzzed= BAD IDEA. Of course, you can use kerosene but then you risk chemical burns in your lungs, poisoning, and chemical burns on your flesh. Heck, I'm not even going to get into the dangers of the actual fire.
One of my stupidest memories at BM included someone trying out for the "Fire Conclave" last minute. They tried to fire breathe with gasoline. I'm sure you can imagine what happened.
My suggestion? DON'T TRY IT AT HOME KIDDOS!
