Sound factor poll

Post by Rat Bastard » Mon Feb 04, 2008 12:12 am

I've heard all sorts of opinions about sound volumes.

Some cry "oooh, too loud, go away"
Some say "it comes with the terratory"
Few say "who cares..."
Others say "what?"

Where do you stand?

Your so observant. The one vote that's in the poll of "I have earplugs" was made by me. Quit being a nudge.

Cheers

I hear a bunch of people that can't stand their own silence. It's an ugly sound I tell ya.

I think it is going to get a lot quieter around here.

My volume actually goes to 40.

Having camped less than 20 yards from 100,000 watts of 24/7 Thumpy Thumpy for the last 3 years (i'm in root society) i can honestly say that i have gotten used to it, actually almost crave it...As soon as i get back to, you know, The DF world, i cant think straight unless i have a constant 120 bpm going on in the background, or foreground as it was...

my head bobs for weeks on end (please, no fellatio jokes)

and i only feel safe and comfortable when the bass sweeps over me like an elephant in heat.

i am a sick puppy, i know.....but if you dont like the noise STAY HOME YOU FUCKING TOURIST...or camp your ass in Empire or Nixon...

get with the program.....drink the kool-aid......shake your booty.

I am a light sleeper so I like some quiet when available. I only complain about people making noise for the sake of making noise. Like when people arent even in their camps and are blasting music in absentia.

or the guy in the art car playing music that even he doesnt like at levels where you can see the sound waves pulsating from his speakers, and his whole wiring harness is glowing from the power output.

Other than that i deal with it.

Ear plugs. I'm with a sound camp, we had sound camps to our right including Root society. No worries. It also helps to be from a noisy part of a city. You can tune out the noise much easier. If you demand silence there will be none.

There's the walk in camping areas for those who like it quiet. Otherwise, quityerbitchin, it's Burning Man.

Well the first twenty aren’t too bad.
But the last thirty you really need to push hard to get them in.

:D Haha Mozy! Yeah- some nights don't mind falling asleep to the sounds (people, horns, a million types of music, etc.) If do want to rest or have my thoughts in my head, squeeze those gorgeous little foam expanding nubs into my ears and it's "CALGON, take me away...ahhh". I still find the pulsating ground to be comforting as the generators power rage a 15 foot wall of sound stage through my back...kinda like a little dusty massage...zzz...zzz
