I live in Dallas, and just recently found out about Burning Man. I definitely plan on attending this year. I have one question...what exactly is "playa"?

The playa is the desert we set up our city at. It comes from Spanish meaning beach, but the playa is nothing more than an alkali flat, one of the largest expanses of dead flat desert in the Northern Hemisphere. Nothing grows there, nothing survives for long without shelter and water.

Do you really want to go to Burning Man? Trust me, it was better last year.

also, "playa" means someone who says he is interested in a real relationship but in reality has a wife back home and is just looking to score some nookie.

Yeah, shit grows there. those little wire plants with flag flowers, all over the friggen place. (I didn't say fag flowers)
