Seriously - what kind of government do you want?

Go Ron Paul!

Erri you didn't say if you voted for Bush.

Unless you're not an american!

I like Ron Paul But if I would vote republican I would vote for McCain.

Ron hasn't a chance. But that Rommey has. He's been good for the american worker. Buys out companies, downsizes them and sells them off. It's just what America Needs to get the economy going. NOT!

Again I ask:

WHAT KIND OF GOVERNMENT DO YOU WANT?

It amazes me that people can't answer this. I realize 'they' don't teach it in school. I realize that most people don't take it upon themselves to learn about the different governments available. I realize that most people are lazy fools and apathetic. I realize 'you' can't answer this question. I realize all of this but still hope that someone out there can answer it, because in the end, I want to believe that someone else cares enough about this country to find out what this country is.

Is the United States of America worth saving?

I want a government that supports education and libraries...

If we concentrate real hard on these 2 mistreated, robbed and forgotten institutions, we will raise better and smarter future leaders who could actually formulate a plan to get us back to a sensible state of the union.

Give a child a movie...and he'll turn off his conscience.
Give a child a book...and he'll paint a new universe!

It is sad what we've done to the education of humans in the United States, is unbelievable. Where most stronger countries are focusing on educating their young, we deprive our young of the very thing that will make or break us....knowledge and the never ending pursuit of finding it.

Our children today dont even know the very principles of how valueable a education is, what an honor it is to be in a country that has an education system, techincally a failing one, but one none the less.

When a student from another country takes part in a foreign exchange program, the American host parents could only hope their natural child was as eager to soak up every posible aspect of thier small time in the new country as that visiting student.

We need to implement taxes to go directly into our schools. And also make a firm law that no leaders this yr or 100 years from now could ever decrease that said tax, and that it would automatically increase with the cost of living increases.
You bet I'd be willing to educate these children, even after my children are grown up...you see, they too will have children, and their children will have children...and one of those children will someday help design safe and efficient hydro-energies, and another child shall find organic medicines from the earth to heal our sick, another shall find a peace treaty that would end most wars, another shall find a way to bring harmony umungst the religions......

It all starts with the unborn child....was the mother educated, was she educated on being healthy, was she educated and worked till up to her 3 week pre-delivery, was she able to work because she was healthy and took good care of herself, was she able to work and pay her insurance to pay for the birth of the baby, was she able to pay for food because she saved money for her time off from work, was she able to pay day care costs to go back to work, was she able to not use government suppliments because she was educated enough to be a person who could stand on her own two feet???????????????

How the hell do you think those illegal emigrants come over and buy up a liquor stores then claim welfare, get a whole check for a family of 6 cash, foodstamps, medical insurance etc.....while still earning more then 6 figure income, that our government doesnt know about?
becuase they got an education...on how to "work" our failing system!

Did you know that the most literate time (and highest quality) for US was during the founding era when everyone was home schooled?

Ever think that government involvement with education is the problem?

It was Daddy Bush who said "Education is the answer." (he did mean public education) Is public education the answer? Or do we need a "different" kind of education that the one the public school are providing?

I home schooled my kids for 12 years. I also have had some of the kids in the public education system for 12 years. I know the difference between the two.

I am torn between McCain and Obama. I want a country that is not run by a relgious freak or a member of a cult. I want a country run by someone who is willing to work with the other side if need be, and not polarize the political process. I want a country where our liberties are safeguarded against constitutional erosion. I want a leader with the guts to do what needs to be done, even if it may be unpopular in the short term. I want a leader who can form coherent sentences and doesnt look like a complete imbecile every time he opens his mouth.

Normally, I would vote Democrat. If Obama gets the nomination, I will vote for him. If he doesnt, I will vote for McCain if he gets the republican nod. I will vote for anyone else before I vote for Romney.

Have you read the Federlist Papers? These were written for the "masses" to get the newl formed Constitution passed in the states. Hardly anyone these days have such a command of the English language. Are you familiar with how our country came to be? The public schools do not teach this stuff. I know, because I was there.

Exactly what founding documents have you read? They are my documentation. Have you read Locke? Bastait? who?

And I am not going to be suckered into a discussion about slaves. Yes, they were uneducated. They were not involved in the political processs - so a discussion regarding that topic is off-point. It's a distraction to prove something else. STAY ON POINT. gee.

I did both with my oldest child. She did regular public schools till she failed so horribly in 9th grade and they lost an entire year of her credits...

We home schooled her till her senior year to re-cap what the california school system had failed, per say brought her back up to speed.
She hadnt a grade over a 2.50 in 3 yrs in public school system, In her senior year she graduated with a 3.54.
And that was with severe bi-polar. She and I taught her coping skills and got her off all the crazy pharmacuitikills.

I still say EDUCATION should be this countries strong point!

come on...give a man a fish he eats for a day...teach a man how to make a fishing pole, he eats for life...ok, downside, he dies of cancer due to to much murcury in our waters...but hey its a handoff.

yes. education. but the question is who decides what is taught.

I say the parents are responsible. The government just can't care - too much red tape involved. If the parents don't care - either home schooled or public schooled - then the children don't get an education.

It's up to the parents. More tax dollars is meaningless.

I don't know what schools you had attended, but I believe that some of what you have asked begins in the 4th grade. The Federalist papers is a high school level study along with Locke or Bastait in American History classes. None in great detail unless you are heading to college therefore you take college prep classes!

I'm still waiting for the cite on pre-american education!

Oh it is on topic because you brought it up therefore I'm just asking you to explain your, I'm better then because I come from a family where my mommy could stay at home and give me an exclusive and narrow education!

Why did you vote for Bush? Twice!

Remember though that tax dollars = teachers salaries, music and art programs (which are being systematically murdered in public schools due to budget restraints), and school hot meal programs.

I can't count how many times over the past years that I have been before our school board begging them to save the budget for school music programs.

ZEUS

I never said I voted for Bush twice. I don't like Daddy Bush or Baby Bush. Your assumptions are wrong.

I educated my children at home. I went to public school the whole way. I have over 400 units of public college education - and never read the books I mention in there. I read them on my own. You should also. They are a great read. I am in private law school and am reading Supreme Court cases and quite a few founding documents. These are American - not pre-American. What exactly is "Pre-American"? Explain.

Also, I never said I was better than anybody else. You are just accusing me thusly. I rarely respond to faceless accusations. "Do not falsely accuse your neighbor" comes to mind.

Plus - just google my references yourself. I am not going to do your work for you. You are not a baby.

This true, but really now - why do you expect the civil governement to do these things for you? Pay for the lessons yourself. This is not Rome - yet.

It sickens me to see most of the candidates vie for votes with their promises of gifts to the citizenry. I'm going to give you this.... NO, I'm going to give you that... NO, wait... I'm going to give you this way better thing.

Aren't BM people self-reliant? I thought so... maybe I was wrong? uh?

alot of BM individuals are teachers. In every way shape and/or form.

There really is no reason that we cant give more $ BACK to education.

My grandmother was a teacher and a librarian, my grandfather was a teacher, a special ed teacher and a principal. My aunt is a teacher. They dont do it because of the money, cause there isnt any in it. They do it for the children. I did it for my children.
With the state of the union, we as parents have hard lines to cross, it takes a double income to support a family anymore. Long gone are the days of a mother, or father for that matter to be able to NOT work and stay home to get their children a better education by home schooling.
I had to work AND home school my daughter, with a younger one in the house, no father and no childsupport. Hard times. But I did it.
But why was I forced to have to go to such hard extremes?
Why couldnt I support my teachers and education system finacially, so they can provide a great education for my children.
Yes, I was a voter, Yes, I was a tax paying citizen.
But no, my country is failing me.you.them.
