little choppy still, though the potential glimmers through on occasion
You go, guy! The stunning tour of perspectives you have provided ensures a long-lasting surplus of wealth in the gift economy.
There aren't too many times when "awesome" really fits, but I don't have a better word at the moment. (My apologies for this unseemly enthusiasm.)

He means real stamps on postcards as BRCPO is a real post office where you can send real mail to the default world. You can receive it too, if you have some idea of your camp address beforehand.
For mail inside BRC itself, you can use just about any stamp or sticker. I have some someone made one year for intra-city delivery to camp.
Ranger Genius needs to get on and tell his story about going to mail a letter to his wife in bootcamp, and when he was there, getting a letter she'd sent to him on the playa! I knew it could be done, so I made sure she knew how to get him a letter. Nice!

Anti-M - isn't there a site on the internet where a person can put their art on real stamps? I know about "stamps-by-mail" where a person can print out real stamps. That would be sooooooo cool to make up real stamps with one's own art work on them. Ever hear of anything like this?

I'm not AntiM but there's always this place to make your own custom stamps. I've actually used it and had good luck with them.Donna Matrix wrote:Anti-M - isn't there a site on the internet where a person can put their art on real stamps? The U.S. Mail allows small postcards and large postcards to go at the standard postcard rate. Odd shapes require extra postage. It's not an entirely intuitive system.Donna Matrix wrote:Philly - how do we make stamps for the BRCPO? or postcards? Can we just make the postcards on cardstock on our printers? Here are the USPS postage prices as of this moment, in case you decide to make USPS stamps:
http://pe.usps.com/text/dmm300/ratesandfees.htm
Of course, playa mail is always free, or whatever bribes and gratuities come along.
Here are USPS size regulations:
http://pe.usps.com/text/dmm300/601.htm#1_0
Stamps in BRC can be USPS stamps (for outgoing USPS mail with the tres exclusiv official BRC postmark) or playa mail stamps for delivery to addresses THAT WE CAN FIND (hint, hint).
We love all stamps, but art stamps are a joy to all who see them. I think we have some of most amazing limited run art stamps in the world at the BRCPO, and people get them for free as availability allows. We always have glue sticks on hand for stamps made on regular paper, as all stamps once were and most playa mail stamps still are.

postal rate increase
If you're going to make stamps for US Mail, remember that rates go up May 12.
Also, apologies for mixing French and German above.

Address System, Version 2
To all who commented on our first draft of a more expressive address system for BRC, thanks again.
For the simplicity advocates, we have reduced the original many pages to one, albeit with some loss of illustrative detail and humor.
There are other changes, but what's important here is the outcome rather than the history of the arcane obsessions that have brought us to this point.
