Yea, I guess, it could be called kewl and exciting and different........
BUT..... some of us spend a lot of time and resources with the "scheduled burn of the MAN" in mind........ If it needs to be more of a random event, it would be kewl to have a "head-up", that "random is the burn", so we are more in that mode......

Wow, look at all those harsh posts. It really seems like many people in this post want to do a great deal of presuming guilt before a trial, name calling, and delusional rationale, big ego stroking, and self important posturing just like a lynch mob.

He admitted guilt silly. He is quite proud of what he did.EricMagic wrote:Wow, look at all those harsh posts. Its also our right, given to us first in a long list of rights to name call, its not like it took a dragnet to catch him. He admitted to it, bragged about it, is on a video, and multiple pictures doing it, there are multitudes of witnesses that never lost sight of him from climbing up, ighting, and his half assed attempt to flee. I totally believe in the rule of law / innocent until.... but Paul sure makes it easy to label as guilty.

we must rise above the clamor of hate and try to see past the dusty storms of bitterness, just as Paul, in a moment of Clarity, changed his name to Saul, on the road to Sparks, in his visit to lakeside (which it is not) detention center for the criminally insane.
he has seen the light, and is now preaching and selling the wonders of Mary KKK.
he dreams of someday owning a pink cadillac and retiring to Boomtown, on I-80.
yes, every man can change and find god in his or her own way.
now, where did i put my Magic Amphetamine Wafers and Holy Beer, i feel a revelation coming on....

Clarify
Maybe he was coerced and brainwashed to confess. What do you think? Was he possibly brainwashed, or tortured, or heavily coerced to confess? However, I have not seen all of the evidence, so I need to remove myself from judging this case.
To clarify my previous post, I was also talking about the harsh posts of various persons criticizing others about differences of opinion, or just a link, and of course some harsh words against the suspect of arson. Seems like there are some major desire to not only jump on Paul, but anyone that is thinking different, which is sort of weird and corrupt given the alleged premise of Burning Man.

Call it what you want Princess Thin Skin.I was also talking about the harsh posts of various persons criticizing others about differences of opinion, or just a link,
I just called you on the fact that you championed a link to a group that's no better (or honest) than the Swift Boat Character Assassins goon squad that Kerry had to deal with in the last election.
As I mentioned before McCain's an ass but he no more deserves to have his record smeared with dog shit by a mob of disingenuous, knuckle-dragging Neanderthals who assassinate individual character under the rubric of 'truth', 'reporting' and 'facts' than you deserve to be taken seriously as an informed voter.
That little link of yours was fucking nauseating and I'd say that about ANY group targeting ANY politician in such a despicable, fact bending manner. McCain was almost as big a victim as the truth and you ought to be ashamed for both posting and perpetuating such mis-informed shit house propaganda.
Re: Clarify
It IS possible those San Francisco ppl tortured him before the interview. I hear they get into some really kinky stuff out there on the west coast.EricMagic wrote:Maybe he was coerced and brainwashed to confess. What do you think? Nicely stated. As for McCain, yesterday I was thinking he should have been elected 8 years ago instead of what we got, on the chance that at least he's a competent ass.Isotopia wrote: As I mentioned before McCain's an ass but he no more deserves to have his record smeared with dog shit by a mob of disingenuous, knuckle-dragging Neanderthals who assassinate individual character under the rubric of 'truth', 'reporting' and 'facts' than you deserve to be taken seriously as an informed voter.

But, had that happened and assuming he got reelected, that means Dubya would be running and possibly leading the Repub primary right now, and the world might have the entire Rove/Cheney/Rumsfeld presidency -ahead- of us...

I don't think a McCain administration would have lied to get us into this war. We would have gone to Afghanistan, and no one's ever been able to occupy it for long, but not this Iraq shit. Unfortunately, his sense of honor wouldn't allow us to just fold up and go home. Which we got to do, sooner or later. How long are we going to have the economic consequences alone? And those vets, plus the hatred in the arab world? I'm voting for whomever the democrat is anyway, supreme court, but at least McCain, though possibly crazy, represents a new kind of craziness for a republican in my political lifetime.

Final Closure
Where is Pail Addis now? What is his address? Should we send him any letters, cards, or gifts to him, and should they be bad or good or simply boring?
So once Paul Addis, the alleged arsonist of the man pavilion, has served time in jail or in re-education camp as the Communists like to call it, or in a mental hospital, what would you like to see occur with the Paul Addis?

SF plea deal for Paul
A man once accused of attempting to set fire to San Francisco's historic Grace Cathedral pleaded no contest Friday to reduced misdemeanor charges.
San Francisco police arrested Addis—an "eccentric" performance artist according to his attorney, public defender Tal Klement—outside the cathedral Oct. 28, his backpack laden with fireworks.
Addis had originally been charged with a felony count of attempted arson, felony charges of possessing explosives and incendiary devices, and a misdemeanor count of altering an imitation firearm.
He had remained in custody in San Francisco County Jail since that time.
Addis agreed to plead no contest to only misdemeanor charges of fireworks possession, altering an imitation firearm and possession of a switchblade, in return for three years of court probation.
Addis has also been ordered to undergo six months of counseling, and to stay at least 150 yards away from Grace Cathedral, according to Klement.
Addis was earlier charged in Nevada for allegedly setting the Burning Man effigy on fire before it was scheduled to be torched at the annual counterculture festival held each Labor Day weekend in Nevada's Black Rock Desert.
Addis is now to be extradited to Nevada to face those charges, according to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office.
