Challenge Your Own Beliefs

Post by Jew Boy » Sat Feb 09, 2008 11:20 pm

Just one, I dare you.

Who's ready to sack up and entertain the possibility that they could be mistaken about anything? If so, what?
For this I left Poland?

I thought you might occasionally be entertaining.

I was wrong.

I admit that there may be nothing after death - trumping pretty much my upbringing.

I'm not wrong, I live in an alternate reality.

Lame comment, I know. Maybe we should change the thread name.

Are beliefs the same as expectations?

In that case, I don't have any... :?

And and it came to pass that all those people who took upon themselves beliefs began to have expectations. And there was much sadness in the land.

But lo, in the West there arose a Man who counseled against such foolishness...and said that one should find the thing that makes one happy and follow it, seeking after the good life has to offer instead of being bogged down in misery - as cattle in the muddy field.

And he was burned - like the witches before him.

And it came to pass the the people who burned the man repented not. for the burning of the man brought them much joy.

And after many days had passed, yea even a whole year, the people remembered the joy they had. and they began to seek after the good things again.

And it came to pass that they travelled to the desert and burned the man again. And there was much joy.

But God, being mischievous in His old age, caused great tempests in the desert. Mighty winds blew - and for some, it caused them to lose their way. Mighty was their anger and great was the gnashing of their teeth...

And God said: "Fuckin' get over yourself."

The people endured for 5 days by embracing the ideals of a utopian society, enjoying the fantastic art, partying like there was no tomorrow,
having fun when the playa gods unleashed their furry with a vicious dust storm by asking "is that all you got? Can't you do better? We are here and you can't drive us away!!!!
On the 6th night, there was a light, and a glow, it was a MAN! Burning in the night! The people rejoiced! The fire from the man was warm and the heat was reasuring that life and love would still be there tomorrow. They danced around the man and partied into the night, until the sun came up. Then they rested.
On the 7th day, there was calm and reverance. Some people were sad because they had to leave this place of total peace, some were glad to leave the harsh conditions the playa gods made them endure.
But the rest stayed!
There was one more burn! That night there was solis. Those who remained witnessed another glow, another heat, One of rememberance,
To remember those who are no longer with us, The Fathers, Mothers, Sons, Daughters, LOVERS and LOVED ONES.
To remember the friendship, the love, the community, the family that has grown in the past 7 days. And feal the sorrow that everyone has to go back to that dingy, soiled world.
And we must endure the default world, until the next year when the Playa Gods put us to task again

YAAAAY!

I was looking for this thread but just didn't have the time to search it in the past few weeks.

Ok,

I challenge anyone to challenge mine.

I believe in 2 things.

I believe in myself and i believe in the ultimate.

The Ultimate first.

Why?

The ultimate is reality and it has not failed me yet.

Good, Bad and ugly.

If you follow the ultimate, at least if anything, if you dont achive the ultimate, if you come close to it, you wont fall too close to the bottom and you'll come close to the ultimate..

My Religion is trying my best to always follow the ultimate.

Music

Art

Is my religion.

in all it's forms.

it disciplines.

It's scientific.

it's physical.

It's mental.

It creates.

it's poetic.

It's reality.
