Can you open an accordion to get the dust out? or does it blow dust year round?

Thanks for the warm welcome folks!

Every year when I return to NY, I take my bellows apart and use compressed air to clean it out.

07 was particularly bad....
I was about to play at center camp and a dust storm of biblical proportions came roaring through.... I threw my accordion back into my back pack and waited about 10 minutes... it died down a little so I started playing but I was sucking in too much dust and had to stop.

The accordion takes a bit of a beating, but it's worth it... I meet a lot of nice folks.

Haven't jammed on the playa with a trumpet yet... but I've had the good fortune of playing with Jimmie Wiz and China Rose... flute players, a tuba player (we were fooling around with Dueling Banjos... but the tuba guy was laughing too much... you had to be there), lots of guitars, sax and I can't count how many drum circles.

2 women singers... one who sounded like Joplin and another who gave me the chills doing scat.

Once I was walking and playing an old song that my grandfather from Russia loved... and a guy walked up to me and started singing it! Only on the playa!!!

Last year I jammed with a gypsy guitar player who was probably the best guitarist I've ever heard.... a bit scary.

Live music on the playa... love it!

If you're interested, I played "The Devil Goes Down to Georgia" at Horny Camp (thought they'd get a kick out of it) a few years ago... here's the video.. it rotates for a few seconds then straightens out.
