Evening Family,
Well sister and i have been planting, planting, planting, seeds for a week now, getting ready for our garden. All those little, tiny pots of dirt look so funny sitting in the greenhouses! Anyway, late August is a good harvest month here in the willamette valley, so we will be bringing fresh produce for everyone(barring locust plagues and major drought!
) We will need to take into accout the stinky garbage, and weather vs. produce factors, but we can also gift some if need be! My man tells me all the time that I was put on this earth to "feed the world" one person at a time! I hope everyone is hungry will be on my tombstone.
Well, loved ones good night, I must rest my gloriously dirty hands.
Pyche! I washed them before the 'puter!
ha ha ha ha ha
p.s. my tickets are in the safe with my porn stash! Just kidding! Man, am I tired.

Whew! Just got done "planting" burning man ticket in the back yard. No one steal it from me there!!! All nice and secure in its own Merican tin can. I'll miss it being on the fridge but security comes at a price as we all know. HE HE he. oh no...how many paces was that?
Congrats on the planting! My dear sister is an avid gardener as well. I say she is an extreme gardner. Her vegetable garden gets bigger every year and the landscape around her house is always becoming more complex. I'm not much of a vegetarian but I look forward to some well grown vegies to go with my BACON! Brokenscene will be happy to as she lives on them. Mmmmm. Stir fry!!!!
If rodents invade my box truck my heart will be broken.
edited because everyone else is doing it.

Twin,
thumbs up on the gardening!
My boyfriend and I are moving into a house this weekend and we are going to have a nice garden. I plan on growing tons of carrots and am sure there will be plenty to bring.
Just curious, where abouts do you live in the Willamette Valley? Tom and I live in Eugene. I've got a bunch of friends that are going to a local burn sometime soon, I'll have to find out when and where, but sounds fun to me. I'll get you the info if you're interested.
Opie, I'm not sure where Aurora is, but maybe you'd be interested?
I'm kinda nervous these days. The company I work for is leaking whispers of layoffs. That sucks cause when you get used to making a certain amount of money, thoughts of losing it are scary.
On the other hand, my brother and I have been working on starting a fabrication shop, and that might just force me to have the time and get super serious about it.
We'll see what happens.
Ok......When I get my ticket in the mail, I am hiding it like a dirty little secret. It's not that it's alot of money, it's just that I've never been one to plan ahead. So, for me to plan this far ahead is a milestone. Hence this being my first year to go after knowing about BM for many years and shoulda-coulda-woulda-but-didn't.
Anyway
ok

Aurora=2 hours north of Eugene but south of Portland off of I5. I'm interested in the local burn. Does it have a name?

Damn, I hope your efforts in planting your garden weren't just beaten to death by this freezing cold night we just had. I got off work at 2am and my car was covered with frost, and not just a light frost, the kind that kills freshly planted gardens. Hope what you meant by planting was that you started planting in your greenhouses. I know we've been having alot of nice weather lately, but let's not be fooled, we know there's more of these cold days in hell to come.
I'm crossing my fingers for ya.
HAHA, I just read about your bacon bra.......the cool thing is that I don't have to pay money to see that.
No clue how you're gonna pull that one off, but when there's a will, there's bacon.
Can't wait to see you too, Seeka! New guy here, but the way all you staggers open your arms, I feel good and welcome.
Man, I am on such a different schedule than most of the world. I guess it's appropriate to wish everyone a good morning, while I have myself a good night.
ok

iNiers,
Your schedule will be perfect for burning man especially if you plan to drive down at night. I worked the graveyard shift when I was welding too.
Seeka--Who are you? I will except clues.
ALERT!! All Staggers, prospective Staggers, lurkers and anyone planning to go to the burn. BUY YOUR TICKET NOW!! Sorry to yell but you already know you are going so just do it. With a potential cap on tickets it will be very expensive to get tickets close to the event. Don't delay. This year procrastination could turn in to the ruinous disappointment of not being able to participate. Ok maybe all of this is 3 months in advance but you know you need that ticket so off to the ticket page you go. Good

My day was good too. It was productive with a quality product at the end of the day. No mud is a good thing. The recent good weather has me spoiled.
If frost threatens established plants irrigating them while the cold is happening can save them from bad damage. At least that is what the local tree farm does. It probably won't work as well on succulents as it does on woody plants. The conversion of water from liquid to ice releases energy which makes the plants not as cold. I have never applied the principle though and I used to be a f*&$ing agriculturalist!

Alright. I did it. Even though my job doesn't start for another month... and is hardly even a guaranteed thing... I gave them the number to the plastic thing that lets me spend money I don't have. My burning man tic should be in the mail some glorious day soon.
Long live our credit based economy!
Long live the burn!
Until next time--

I read these words of frost and snow and find pity on my fellow Staggers! Guess it is left for me to soak up the glorious rays of sunshine and perfect mid 70 degree weather as I ride all week during bike week here in Daytona.
Even got sunburned yesterday
