Oh the indiscretions of youth!
McCain's past catches up at the wrong time:
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/21/us/po ... in.html?hp
Sadly, if it was about money the Republicans wouldn't have a problem, but SEX, can't have anything thing to do about that!
I'm more concerned about the Keating Affair!
"Mr. McCain promised, for example, never to fly directly from Washington to Phoenix, his hometown, to avoid the impression of self-interest because he sponsored a law that opened the route nearly a decade ago. But like other lawmakers, he often flew on the corporate jets of business executives seeking his support, including the media moguls Rupert Murdoch, Michael R. Bloomberg and Lowell W. Paxson, Ms. Iseman’s client. (Last year he voted to end the practice.)"
In other news, O'Reilly wants to lynch Michelle Obama!
Will he lose his job! Keep an eye on this one because it's going to get bad!!

I'll wager 100 playa bucks.
Did you predict Bush would beat Kerry? If Bush can beat Kerry after it was patently evident what an idiot Bush was, why do you think America will elect a black guy whose middle name is Hussein?
I predict Obama will win the left and right coast, but its the south and the breadbasket that ultimately decide our president. I dont see either of those regions going Democrat for Obama.
I wish it were otherwise.

Problem with that is in the primaries, he's beating the tar our of McCain as well as Hillary. Polls are bullshit including exit polls.
When I was doing the MoveOn GOTV campaign on election day 2004, as late as 4PM Pacific Standard Time, CNN held that Kerry was whipping the stuffing out of Bush in the exit polls. Four hours later we went to the Election Central party and walked in to see a very, very red, big American heartland.
The days are different now. We've had five years of Iraq, we're in the first blush of a recession, thousands of people going homeless every day, we've seen torture not only legalized but defended as a great intelligence-gathering device (which flies in the face of all logic and consistently-observed reality). The lame-duck Bush Presidency gave us that: he had the power, he got drunk on it, and used it like a weapon against everyone except his inner circle of cronies. 81% of the country are calling "bullshit" after seven years of Bushism.
The fact is, primaries don't lie and the numbers there can't be toggled. If you win 299,000 votes in a primary, you can count on those in the election. The real hard-right GOPpers won't vote for either Obama or McCain, they'll vote third party or independent, which means they'll be essentially wasting their votes.
Take a look at Obama's recent numbers: 74% and 71% in candy-apple red Kansas and Idaho. 76% in Hawai'i, swept all counties in Washington State (Seattle is blue, the rest is very, very red; when they describe Washington as a blue state, they're talking about Seattle). McCain will be fighting a war of attrition to keep the moderate Repubs and Independents in his base from flocking over to Obama.
I'm predicting Obama by a landslide.

Since I thought this to be a better place to question Ms Hillary's spending I moved this quote from "How do you know if a thread is Good" to here
McCain is vunerable of his shift to support everything that Bush has done to get this country into the shit hole we are in: foreign policy, military, war, budget deficit, Israeli/Palestinian conflict, economy, What hasn't Bush and the resulting republicans haven't done to screw us up. McCain is going to be the symbol of that angst in the next election.
The majority of GW Bush's supporter still believed at the time of the reelection that there were still WMD's hidden somewhere in Iraq. Second the tortures in the Prison CAmps were just coming out.
Third!
You don't change Horsemen in the middle of the Apocalypse!

PS- and if McCain does get in? It will be almost like having a Democrat in the white house. Because if he can waffle now, he will most certainly waffle once he is in the white house. We win no matter who wins the election! Though, We won't win as much.
The big issue is how to change the way government does its biz, she and McCain will have to answer those questions. Like I been saying, Vote for No One that Voted for the War!" in all races. No incumbents that voted for that war! that will be my attack on many blogs!Kinetic V wrote:

Man, I want to believe you, but I dont understand the primary thing. Are republicans able to vote for a democrat in a primary? I know a few states allow cross-over voting, but I think the majority do not. Thus, the primaries are not a head-to-head competition between mcCain and Obama.diane o'thirst wrote:Problem with that is in the primaries, he's beating the tar our of McCain as well as Hillary.
I also want to believe the southern states have transcended the skin color thing. I want to believe that white folks in Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Oklahoma, etc. are ready to vote for the best candidate regardless of skin color. I want to believe......

No, I was just making an observation based on my crushing disappointment after the 2004 election. Im not a racist, or even remotely prejudiced, but I think its easy for you in enlightened Seattle to presume the rest of America is like you and your patchouli burning buddies. Like, I said, Im voting Obama, I'm just not optimistic based on the last election. Maybe Im the one who is wrong to presume what the south and the midland voters are thinking and feeling. I guess we'll see.
In the meantime, though, try practicing a little kindness to yuor fellow Burners. It wont hurt you.

Can we help Huckabee and/or Romney to find a nice, conservative, God-fearing third party? Might be worth investing some money in....

Ferarro has gone to the gutter! The bigot!
The Democrats just used her in 84 just to win the ticket because she was a woman not that she had the qualifications to be a leader!
Well isn't that is what she is saying?
She's Italian, right, could she be a lil' Ms Benito?

There's one person that if they decide to run would pull my vote away from Hillary in about 1.5 nanoseconds: Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura! It seems he's thinking about making a run for the White House! Now this may all be a bunch of pre-Wrestlemania hype...but still the idea has been a fun debate topic for awhile...

Ventura: Will he or won't he
March 14, 12:53 AM
To hear Jesse Ventura tell it, he’s either out to become president or an expatriate.
In the opening to his fourth book, due out April 1, the former wrestler and governor of Minnesota writes: “As I begin to write this book, I’m facing probably the most monumental decision of my 56 years on this planet. Will I run for president of the United States, as an independent, in 2008? Or will I stay as far away from the fray as possible, in a place with no electricity, on a remote beach in Mexico?â€

Now that everyone knows that Obama is not a muslim, they now they are saying he isn't the right kind of Christian- the one that comes from the white church where sermons are about being kind to your pets.
He comes from a church that speaks from the pulpit about the injustice done to the African-Americans and how America does the same to others that are different then the Lily White Christians in America.
And the Media say's that is wrong. That the church should just preach about all the Love in America even when there is none!
Yes, God Damn those that kill the innocent even if it is America or the NAZI's!

At this point I'm getting sick of the whole fucking mess and I wish the superdelegates would get some balls...either physical or virtual, whatever, and bring this sorry process back under control. I also wish that the Speaker of the House would shut her damn mouth...how on Earth did someone so stupid ever get into that position?Ugly Dougly wrote:It's not his fault that his preacher is pissed off.
As for Obama's pastor...there's enough kernels of truth there to go around...I haven't heard all of the controversial comments but the parts I did hear had me thinking the guy's telling the truth and he's got the guts to do it. In my eyes it's actually moved my position on Obama over slightly to a more favorable one.

I'm between a rock and a hard place. As I've stated elsewhere, I'm from Missouri, Jackson County to be precise and I'm a hard core Truman Democrat. I will vote Republican if I know the person that's running say for Sheriff or a particular state office but that's about as far as it goes...so my chances of voting for John McCain are ZERO. And it looks like all Hillary's going to do is make a mess at the convention...the superdelegates and the popular vote are going Obama's way and I just don't see Hillary overcoming that outside of the courts...and the courts have no business deciding this part of the political process.
I'm not ready to commit to Obama just yet...but I'm no longer sitting on Hillary's side of the fence either. And on top of that this promises un-civil war in the house with a fiancee that hates Obama and is 100% pro-Hillary...sometimes politics sucks.
One last thing...resurrecting that old slogan, it's the economy, stupid. I want a President that offers us more than stuff like shrub said today, quote:
On top of it all there's rumors that much of the storyline that's about to come down is being orchestrated by the Chinese to take America down a notch without having to fire even a single shot or ICBM.

So...out of all that stuff from the AP article, was there any substance? Was there any visions of leadership? We're in challenging times? No shit, tell us something we didn't know. "When need be we'll act decisively". Yep, that means we'll take taxpayer dollars and bail out bad business decisions...don't worry, we've got a track record of fixing the nastiest of the messy fuckups of big business. And he even promises to do more if they feel they can suck a few more BILLIONS out the NY Fed's back door! At this rate I think Mickey Mouse and Goofy could do better than the President and Bernanke have done.....the Fed's actions in bailing out Bear Stearns by orchestrating the JP Morgan Chase buyout is flat out wrong, it's bullshit, and Bear Stearns should have been allowed to sink.WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush, trying to ease turmoil in financial markets, said Monday that his administration is "on top of the situation" in dealing with the slumping economy.
"One thing is for certain, we're in challenging times,' the president said after meeting with Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and other senior economic advisers. "But another thing is for certain: we've taken strong decisive action."
The president commended the Fed for its urgent actions over the weekend. He said that "we've shown the country and the world that the United States is on top of the situation."
Bush, surrounded by his economic advisers at the White House, said his administration is monitoring economic developments closely.
"When need be, we'll act decisively," Bush said, without indicating any other steps his government might take.
On top of it all there's rumors that much of the storyline that's about to come down is being orchestrated by the Chinese to take America down a notch without having to fire even a single shot or ICBM.

Another good reason not to vote for McCain:
Mega-Church Pastor in Texas Backs McCain
By Elisabeth Bumiller
SAN ANTONIO — Senator John McCain got support on Wednesday from an important corner of evangelical Texas when the pastor of a San Antonio mega-church, Rev. John C. Hagee, endorsed Mr. McCain for president. Mr. Hagee, who argues that the United States must join Israel in a preemptive, biblically prophesized military strike against Iran that will lead to the second coming of Christ, praised Mr. McCain for his pro-Israel views.
“John McCain has publicly stated his support of the state of Israel, pledging that his administration will not permit Iran to have nuclear weapons to fulfill the evil dreams of President Ahmadinejad to wipe Israel off the map,'’ Mr. Hagee said at a news conference at the Omni Hotel in San Antonio.
Mr. Hagee also praised Mr. McCain for his “solid, pro-life voting record for the past 24 years.'’
Mr. McCain, who has been on a steady search for support among conservative and evangelical leaders who have long distrusted him, said he was “very honored'’ by Mr. Hagee’s endorsement. Asked about Mr. Hagee’s extensive writings on Armageddon and about what one questioner said was Mr. Hagee’s belief that the anti-Christ will be the head of the European Union, Mr. McCain responded that “all I can tell you is that I am very proud to have Pastor John Hagee’s support.'’
Mr. Hagee, the pastor of the Cornerstone Church, said that his support for Israel had nothing to do with prophetic scenarios, but rather because he felt the cause was just. “They are a democracy in the Middle East that deserves the support of America and Christian people everywhere,'’ Mr. Hagee said.
End of Article
Hagee and McCain. Funny how the NEO-con artists have allowed this Hagee/ McCain relationship fall though the media coverage. I didn't hear Obama's reverend say, "Kill Whitey!" but I did hear Hagee say, in metaphorical speech, kill the Iranians!
The Anti-Christ are all those that don't believe in JC- Period and the Anti will be a christian American President! He will come into office saying the things that people wish to hear. He will then proceed to start a war. A desperate war which we will engage for decades. He will draw into the war the neighboring countries. Turkey, Afghanistan, Saudi, Lebanon, Israel etc. Enraged followers will rise up in other countries causing terrorist disruptions.
So Say Happy Birthday to GW Bush's child- the Iraq war. 5 years and going strong, that lil' cutie!
The Bush admin has been on top of everything, just fucking raping America and the world while our might holds down the victim! 3 trillion dollars sucking the wealth out of america and taking down the rest of the western democracies with him.
On Hillary: It is said that she made a pact with Obama NOT to enter the FL and MI primaries. What do you think about that? Now Florida along with will once again take down the Demos

it seems that Republican talk show host have been asking that republicans that live in state with cross-over parting voting to vote for Hillary feeling that she would be an easier target because of her past and ties with the Clinton admin.

The same old Republican Bullshit:

Real truth on the Obama and how he masterminded the radical Weathermen group at the age of 6 year old: Obama the revolutionary!
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/04/us/po ... ref=slogin
In fact, according to several people involved, Mr. Ayers played no role in Mr. Obama’s appointment. Instead, it was suggested by Deborah Leff, then president of the Joyce Foundation, a Chicago-based group whose board Mr. Obama, a young lawyer, had joined the previous year. At a lunch with two other foundation heads, Patricia A. Graham of the Spencer Foundation and Adele Simmons of the MacArthur Foundation, Ms. Leff suggested that Mr. Obama would make a good board chairman, she said in an interview. Mr. Ayers was not present and had not suggested Mr. Obama, she said.
Ms. Graham said she invited Mr. Obama to dinner at an Italian restaurant in Chicago and was impressed.
“At the end of the dinner I said, ‘I really want you to be chairman.’ He said, ‘I’ll do it if you’ll be vice chairman,’ â€
