Patience:
Love mayonnaise is a completely different thing.
As for the real stuff, here's a typical list of ingredients:
Vegetable oil, water, egg yolk, spirit vinegar, glucose syrup, fresh lemon juice, salt, Dijon mustard
I give this a personal Wrongness Factor of 8.2. At least my dislike of the stuff means there's more for you. Have fun!

Sorry about the thread drift, but if you'd like to vote for burning man, and swamp the 5-10 sbm people who are probably voting multiple times, here's a link

I think there's a space to write in mayonaisse too.

Tancorix, this site might be good for you. It's the Worldwide I Hate Mayonnaise Club.
http://www.nomayo.com/
Please keep in mind that, despite the fact that the administrators of the site have gone to great lengths to build a website devoted to ridding the world of mayonnaise, they continue to insist that they are not trying to stop mayonnaise. Thye jsut wanntr to show yu spooonfede sheep thwe truith. Stop the BMORG (Big Mayo Organization) now!

It's not that I hate you. It's just that I'm a much better person than you.
I didn't and the first 6 months after I moved out West it caused me anguish, pain, suffering, gnashing of teeth, rending of garments, loss of sleep, dandruff, halotosis, brittle yellowing nails, toe fungus, nearsightedness, shortness of breath, dizzy spells, anxiety and panic attacks, uncontrollable swelling, unslakable thirst, painful morbid itching, foot odor, Tourette's syndrome, tax evasion, black-outs, flashbacks, unfocused rage, sweating palms, shaking hands, Elvis feet, bucking gyrating hips, dry chronic coughing, loss of hair and jaundice.genghis wrote:did you know that hellman's mayonnaise is known as "best foods" mayonnaise west of the mississippi? who knew?
But I'm all better now, thank you very much.

I once had a roommate who insisted that miracle whip and mayonaisse were the same thing. Seems his mommy made all his food for him, and he was so fucking clueless he didn't even know to use a plastic spatula rather than a metal one in a teflon pan.
And to boot, he knew miracle whip was not the same as mayo, and just liked to argue about stuff, the irritating fuck.
I used to accuse him of having a pathological fear of dying without having discussed every subject in the universe.
I'm all for intelligent discussion, but when you know that you can't do anything, not even watch tv without winding up in a discussion about how the jack in the box commercial is so symbolic of the military/industrial complex, that can get kind of annoying.

Oh my! As a kid I moved out East, and had the most delightful time shopping with my Mom:blyslv wrote:I didn't and the first 6 months after I moved out West it caused me anguish, pain....But I'm all better now, thank you very much.genghis wrote:did you know that hellman's mayonnaise is known as "best foods" mayonnaise west of the mississippi? who knew?
"Mom, we need to get the HELL-man's.
Are you going to get the HELL-man's?
Are you sure that's enough HELL-man's?
Where's the HELL-man's"

Re: Interesting...
I received the below and the explanation sounds reasonable.

Subject: Yahoo Group
There is no actual ban in the group. Is it possible there was some other violation of the acceptable use policy that Yahoo puts out? I emailed Yahoo support to see what's up, but attempting to subscribe several email addresses today resulted in 1 saying it was banned and 2 which seem to have gone through, but one of the two did not end up on the members list.
Certainly we're not trying to exclude anyone. Please give it another try.
Thanks

I joined the stopburningman yahoo group to read the discussion on that list and to potentially join that discussion in a rational manner. Yesterday, it seems that I had been unsubscribed from the group. I did not unsubscribe myself but was unscubscribed by someone else (most likely the moderators of the group). I resubscribed a few minutes later.
Today, I tried to access the group and to my surprise, I have been banned from the group. I have not posted on that list, nor have I send email to anyone on that list.
According to their list description "This group was created in order to facilitate unfiltered, open debate about the things that Black Rock City, LLC and BLM may or may not be telling the public.". Banning people without any provication does not "facilitate unfiltered, open debate ".
Thay also want "Rational, informed discussion only!!! No ranting uncontrollably! This forum is for the sole purpose of debating a controversial topic, hopefully resulting in everyone being more informed on the subject.". Banning people who have never posted does nothing to encourage this either.
SBM folks seem to be continuing a pattern of behavior consistant with irrational debate and closed mindedness and do not seem to want open discussion of thier positions. (please note, I use the words "seem to" and "pattern of behavior").

Here's great recipe for a chocolate mayo cake that I made just last week.
It's light and moist and delish. It's called Depression because mayo was easier to get than fresh eggs during the depression - plus it's got magical MAOI qualities, since it's chocolate .
Depression Cake
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 cups water
2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350 degrees (175 degrees C). Lightly grease and flour two 9 inch layer pans.
-Mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, cocoa, and sugar into a large bowl.
-Stir in mayonnaise.
- Gradually add water and vanilla and blend until smooth.
- Pour batter into prepared pans.
Bake for 30 minutes.
<edited for spelling, sorry guys>
