They mention Burning man in Buffy:T.V.S. !!!
I just got so excited, for anyone who watches buffy, it's at the begining of season 2, ms. calander is talking to giles and he asks so how was your summer? and she responds she went to burning man at black rock. It was so unexpected I almost fell off my chair. Although *blush* , I'm sure someone already had that information, but it sure came as a shock to me. Anyways, now you know I'm a buffy fan. Well Have a great day!

Last night on Comedy Central's "Lil' Bush ",
Little Condie Rice caught George on fire, and Little Dick Cheney came to George's side wearing a Dr. Seuss tophat, and instead of his usual one liner "wra wra wra wra's"...... he say's "wee wee wee wee...Burning Man...wee wee wee wee ".
I will try to catch it on computer next time
So I can post it later on You tube.
Classic little Dick !!!

I've only caught it on an independent channel here.
It is on dvd and netflix though.

It would be a shame if I had to resort to self-deception to preserve my faith in objective reality.

Mentioned it in some episode of Reno 911 again this season. The context was that two of them were going down to build a symbolic fence along the Mexican border (they hired some Mexicans to do it instead) and Deputy Dangle says something like 'Oh, I see. It'll be like Burning Man for drunk rednecks.'

The guy who did Dead Like Me also did Wonder Falls and Pushing Daisies.
I thought Pushing Daisies was somehow connected.

I've noticed a familiar term, used a couple of times.
In the movie Serenity, talking about a planet: "It's a black rock. Nothing can live there."
Then there is the Black Rock on Lost, which I assumed was a giant black rock, until it was shown to be an old ship, (sitting high and dry and inland.)
Made me wonder about the screen writers.

Joss Whedon created Buffy and Firefly/ Serenity too.
I think Capt Fun, who wrote The Man Burns Tonight, wrote some Buffy episodes too.
I know he wrote for Angel.

There has been at least one commercial about burning man.
I think I have caught some that mentioned burning man but in a very quick, subtle, almost subliminal way.
Writers love sneaking things in.
I think it's an old tradition.
There is a state capitol with enormous stained glass windows full of pagan symbology.

Sundance burning man show??
I just caught a clip of the Greenhouse from burning man 2007.
It made a reference to the Green Man theme and it seemed to be promoting a show about the burn, but I can find no such show.
It doesn't help that the sundance webhouse has, possibly, the worst search engine ever devised.
The clip was on in the block after Shameless.
